eDiscovery
4 TopicsSharePoint Online: "List cannot be deleted while on hold or retention policy."
I am trying to help a client clean up some very old lists and sites. However, whenever I try to delete anything, I get the message above. I've checked for an eDiscovery site, for classification labels/policies, DLP policies, and am finding nothing. Any ideas?Solved105KViews2likes15CommentsSharePoint eDiscovery with integration w/ Microsoft Exchange (everything on-premise)
We have SharePoint and Exchangeon-premise. Via SharePoint, our Legal team would like to perform searches across our file shares, custom document stores and emails in Microsoft Exchange. SharePoint is already crawling file shares and our various custom document shares. We don't currently have integration with Exchange. Legal wants to be able to search for content and then export the search results (i.e. files) to a file share on the network, which they'll use for discovery purposes. Does anyone have experience with SharePoint eDiscovery and integrating it with Microsoft Exchange? Does SharePoint eDiscovery support searching the contents of emails and attachments? And can we export those emails to a file share? I would really like some feedback from someone with experience implementing and using SharePoint eDiscovery with result sources similar to our use case.eDiscovery Center SharePoint site
As I am cleaning up unused and obsoleted SharePoint sites in the SharePoint Admin center, I am wondering if the site.../Sites/eDiscoveryCentercan be safely deleted (the site was automatically created by the system). Navigating to the site, I get a message saying: "Creating new cases in the eDiscovery Center in SharePoint is no longer supported. You can create and use eDiscovery cases on the eDiscovery page in theOffice 365 Security & Compliance Centerto manage your investigations[Learn more]". Please advise, thank you.Solved1.5KViews0likes2CommentsSharePoint eDiscovery Export Download Fails with Error
Microsoft has again introduced a manifest error in the SharePoint on premise Discovery Download Manager. It took them about a year to publish a patch when they did this in SharePoint Server 2013. Lets hope they get the fix out for "SharePoint Server 2016" and "SharePoint Server 2019" much faster.
