bandwidth
7 TopicsPoly x50 video call - no video.
Hi - wondered if anyone could help. Ive got a call open with Poly (for weeks now) but had no answer to my question. As above if i start a video call on our x50 i see my own video feed in the bottom corner but, in the main screen i just see the other users login avatar (or their initials in the round circle). Ive read that this is Teams deciding theres not enough bandwidth so disables the video but even if we do a test and an internal video call its no different. Has anyone else had this or, even managed to fix it?? Thanks to anyone that takes a punt. Cheers3.6KViews0likes6CommentsIs this really kb/s or KB/s? Edge Dev tools - Network Throttling
I'm getting mixed results when I set network throttling in Edge Version 84.0.488.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I can't be sure if it correctly means kilobits per second (kb/s) or kilobytes per second (KB/s). when I assume it to be (kb/s) and then multiply my desired download speed by 8 (to get the actual KB/s which is the unit that's used in real world) before entering in Edge, I see on the browser task manager that the tab I'm apply throttling to is exceeding the speed limit by a huge margin. so I need to be sure if it's just not a typo (kb/s instead of KB/s) and it actually is kilobits per seconds and I have to multiply my number by 8. is it possible that the network speed that I'm seeing in the browser task manager for a particular tab to also include the cache that browser loads from my computer?1.7KViews2likes0CommentsAllow us to view the upload status of our feedbacks and data so we won't accidentally disrupt it
Allow us to view the upload status of our feedbacks and data so we won't accidentally disrupt it for example I have attached a video, screenshot or a dump file to my Feedback and I need to know what the upload status is and its speed, so I won't connect/disconnect a VPN, change proxy, restart my computer, put it to sleep, start a file download/upload, start a game to increase network latency and PING and that sort of things. this is really important and would help me and everyone a lot. thanks please upvote this suggestion on Feedback hub: https://aka.ms/AA7qucm1.1KViews0likes0CommentsNew Teams Network Planner
Are there plans for the Network Planner to be more feature rich? Right now I am looking through it, and personas for one just has on/off, no indication of how much a persona might use a modality. Also regardless of PSTN type (calling plans or Direct Routing), it shows 0 bandwidth used for PSTN, and the persona being used for the calculations are Office Worker with PSTN on. Is this just the first iteration of the new network planner, or is this pretty much what we'll get? Is this the recommended way for a company planning a Teams migration to estimate bandwidth impact? I think the network planner in MyAdvisor was much better.2.2KViews1like1CommentPrepare our organization's network for Microsoft Stream
We are in the process or rolling out Stream in our organization and we would like to estimate how much network bandwidth will be consumed? Does Microsoft have a Network Planner Tool for MS Stream? We understand that adaptive bitrate streaming and network caching can help with network performance. Has anyone gone through this exercise before that might be able to provide guidance on bandwidth requirements for video playback and live events? Thanks!
