We're going to use ADMT for cross-forest migration of a selected group of users with their mailboxes and wondering which path is best suitable for the task. We already set up the new domain and the trust relationship. We tested a normal user migration, without considering mailboxes at all, just to validate the environment and it worked fine. Now we're at the point to correctly plan for real user/group migration with their mailboxes. Given that the new exchange server is in place and configured I'm looking for guidelines to perform the migration. Particularly i'd like to know if the user and its mailbox have to be migrated at the same time or if we can migrate all the users before and then, at a second stage, we can merge them with a "mailbox" migration thanks626Views0likes1CommentADMT "Domain Local Group" migration
I a question about migrating "Domain Local" groups in AD using ADMT. I have a Domain Local group in the source domain that has a couple user accounts in them. I then migrated the DLG to the target domain and then migrated a user that is a member of that DLG to the target domain. Then ran the security translation on the source server. The new DLG from the target domain shows up in the ACL, However the user is still not able to access the share when logging into a computer in the target domain. Is this how this is supposed to work or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!611Views0likes0CommentsADMT Migration Question
I have a question about an upcoming migration we are doing. I have gone over the documentation for ADMT and read the order in which to migrate is SERVICE ACCOUNTS, GROUPS, USERS, COMPUTERS. But if we were to migrate a server first and we have SID filtering disabled and enable SID history, if a file server is moved before any of the users or groups would users in the SOURCE domain still have access to the migrated server in the TARGET domain after it is moved since the ACL's still contain the SID's of the users in the SOURCE domain? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks846Views0likes0CommentsAD User Migration Exchange Mailbox last
Hi, one Question, we have a multidomain environment, with an Exchange 2016 DAG. Our company consists of several companies, and I have to separate them into several separated AD Domains. We want to migrate Users with ADMT to the new domain per SID-History, and they should use their old Mailbox (per linked Mailbox) until we are able to migrate Exchange completely. I read just About Migrate Exchange first, so my Question is, is our solution a valid way?1.3KViews0likes1Comment
