WIP
7 TopicsNew Teams and Outlook not working for my organization.
Hi All. I've been trying to allow the New teams/Outlook for my organization. Here's how we curently have everything setup: We use Windows Information Protection with enrolled devices. WIP works with “classic” version of MS Teams and Outlook but not the latest “new” version that is being rolled out. We know that it relates to WIP, as both new versions work fine with WIP turned off. We don’t seem to able to add the correct details to the WIP policy in order to add the new MS Team and Outlook as protected apps (enlightened or unenlightened); they keep showing as “personal” in Task Manager “Enterprise Context”. These are the configurations that I've tried so far and didn't seem to work for both apps. Outlook Name: Outlook Product name: microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps Type: Universal app Publisher: CN=Microsoft Corporation, O=Microsoft Corporation, L=Redmond, S=Washington, C=US Min Version: * Max Version: * Action: Allow Teams Name: Microsoft Teams Product name: * Type: Desktop apps Publisher: O=MICROSOFT CORPORATION, L=REDMOND, S=WASHINGTON, C=US File: ms-teams.exe Min Version: * Max Version: * Action: Allow Is there anyone who can advise with the WIP config or is there an alternative way to get the users to switch to the new Apps? Thank you.1.6KViews0likes1CommentApp protection (WIP) - Outlook - Can't use work content here
Hello, We've successfully implemented M365 Apps and applied App protection policies (WIP with enrollment). All components are functioning as anticipated, with the exception of M365 Outlook. Our users are encountering an issue when they attempt to attach files from OneDrive or paste text from a work document. They receive a warning message that reads, "Can't use work content here. Your organization doesn't allow you to use work content here." Interestingly, this problem arose following our migration from Outlook 2016 to M365 Outlook. A peculiar observation is that pasting text from the work context into the "To", "Cc", or "Subject" fields works without any issue, but doing the same into the body of the e-mail is not permitted. Any assistance or guidance on this matter would be appreciated. Thank you.1.9KViews0likes0CommentsWIP blocks data connections between Excel and Access
Hi everyone, I'm reposting this here from Microsoft Community. I hope that's not bad form. I'm trying to get WIP working, but am experiencing a lot of frustration. I have an Excel XLSX file that connects to an Access MDB database for updates. I do the update manually by opening the XLSX file and clicking Data -> Refresh All. Unfortunately, WIP blocks this connection, giving me this error: [DataFormat.Error] The Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to the file. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view and write its data. When I remove WIP, the connection works without issue. If I change the ownership of the MDB file to Personal, it also works without issue. Both the XLSX and MDB files are on a single user's OneDrive. Both show Enterprise ownership. Both are available offline. I'm working on a fresh Windows 10 Hyper-V VM with all current updates and patches. Ditto for Excel and Access. The VM is cloud-managed by Intune. Excel has been added to the Protected Apps list via the Office-365-ProPlus AppLocker policy in the Intune "Recommended Apps" drop-down menu. Access has been added to the Exempt apps list as directed in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/information-protection/windows-information-protection/enlightened-microsoft-apps-and-wip. Excel runs in Enterprise Context as an "Enlightened, Permissive" app. Access runs as "Exempt". Access has no problem opening this protected MDB, but Excel cannot. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.1.3KViews0likes2CommentsWIP Policy for outlook client

Hi all, A few weeks ago Sharepoint Online access via Edge (Chromium) browser stopped working from our AAD joined + Intune Windows 10 (2004) computers. Error from Edge: You don’t have access to this content Try accessing the site again using a profile connected to your work or school account. Learn more. If the problem continues, contact your administrator. ERR_BLOCKED_BY_ADMINISTRATOR I suspect the issue has something to do with Windows Information Protection (WIP) policy because of the error message and since IE still works. There is no briefcase in Edge address bar. Intune App Protection have and Windows Information Protection (WIP) policy. The policy have both WIPMode Allow and Exempt policy XML files added. It have worked for a few months up to a couple weeks ago. We have not touched any policy. MsEdge - WIPMode-Allow - Enterprise AppLocker Policy File.xml MsEdge - WIPMode-Exempt - Enterprise AppLocker Policy File.xml Also, the WIP policy do have a Network Boundary for Sharepoint Any suggestions? Thanks!Solved9.7KViews0likes8Comments
