Bring back the ability to hold Shift + click on pinned icons on Taskbar to open multiple instances of the app Windows 10 has this useful feature but it's missing in Windows 11, where you could hold Shift and then click (left-click) on a pinned app icon on taskbar that is already open, in order to open another instance of the app. for example the file explorer, browser, media player, text editor, calculator and so on. I noticed sometimes icons of the Pinned programs on the taskbar get a while background around them, like this: and in some cases the icon itself is replaced with this placeholder (this is File Explorer) I haven't submitted a feedback on Feedback hub app yet, they happen very randomly at the moment and they are fixed usually after a minute or two. anyone else experiencing the same thing on this build?2.8KViews4likes11CommentsBring back Taskbar at the top with multiple rows and Toolbars in Windows 11
Hi everyone, I just submitted new feedback in the Feedback Hub about the taskbar in Windows 11. Many of us miss the flexibility we had in Windows 10, and I think it's important Microsoft hears this from as many users as possible. Specifically, the feedback asks Microsoft to: - Allow the taskbar to be moved to the top (and other sides) of the screen. - Bring back multi-row taskbars for people who pin many apps. - Support custom toolbars again (quick access to folders, files, and shortcuts). - Make it possible to keep system tray icons always visible without extra clicks. If you also miss these features, please upvote the feedback here: https://aka.ms/AAxn2ht The Windows taskbar has always been one of the most important parts of the OS, and restoring these customization options would improve productivity and make Windows 11 more user-friendly for everyone. Thanks for supporting this! Niklas, Sweden103Views2likes1CommentNever Group Taskbar Windows 11
Greetings, I recently installed Windows 11 for testing purposes, as many of our customers are transitioning to it. However, after about 1 hour, I decided to revert to Windows 10. The reason for this change was my frustration with the inability to ungroup icons on the Taskbar. I came across numerous forum threads dating back over two years, where countless users expressed their dissatisfaction, yet it seems Microsoft has not addressed this issue. I'm left wondering about the purpose of this new Taskbar design – it appears to be a wasted use of space, left and right. Designed to be most unproductiv possible. What I dont understand, why Microsoft is holding on to this Design even if a high % have show they dissatisfaction about it. Really disappointed and I wont be using Windows 11 anytime soon. Maybe skip it in total and wait for Windows 12.1.9KViews2likes4CommentsPlease add this feature soon!!!
Please allow us to set different taskbars for different desktops, it would be so helpful to have this feature as I obviously use different apps for school and work. Having the right apps pinned to my taskbar depending on which desktop I am using would be way more convenient and help me focus.977Views2likes1CommentDisplay all elements taskbar in extended displays
Hello! I can't not find a way to display the 'Show hidden icons' arrow and the 'Internet, audio and battery' button on every extended screen. The option doesn't exist in the control panel, so I guess this should be changed in the registry. Does anyone know how it could be achieved? How the main display taskbar looks like: And how the extended one looks: Thank you for your help!1KViews1like1CommentWindows 11 Taskbar Seems Downgraded
There are some key functionalities of the Windows 10 taskbar that got everything right, and I don't know why they got removed in Windows 11. I would like to see them added back in. Three main features that were instrumental as a video game player using Windows 10 taskbar and a multi-monitor setup: 1. Click+Drag (or alternate setting) after unlocking the taskbar to move the taskbar to whatever portion of the screen you wanted it on. 2. Vertical space is a premium in horizontal monitor orientations, side oriented task bars are excellent for these scenarios. 3. Clocks on alternate monitor taskbar. Windows 11 is missing it from alternate monitor task bars. My primary monitor is the one the games always start on, why can't I have a visible clock on my alternate monitor's taskbar as a default feature of Windows 11?1.1KViews1like1CommentWindows 11 22533 breaks taskbar positioning.
It seems that the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3 resets every time explorer.exe starts. For instance, if I change the position of the Taskbar (00 -> 03), then save, and then reboot explorer, the registry resets, and the taskbar remains in the bottom of the screen. Please attend to this.21KViews1like14CommentsTaskbar corner icons missing from secondary monitor.
The taskbar corner icons only show on the primary display, however this means when using a Fullscreen application that it must be minimized in order to see the time and any notifications which is not only an annoyance but being hearing impaired the lack of visual notification is a problem. In addition some programs will only open on the primary monitor, so there is no way around the issue.985Views1like2CommentsWindows 11 start menu not clickable
When the taskbar is centered i can't click inside the start menu but if i place it on the left, it is possible. Then the terminal had the same problem, if i place it on the center i can't click but i can in the left. It's like something is blocking the screen center. The problem only happens with this programs, it is very weird. I attached a video. The problem goes away if i only enable the second display and then only enable the primary display.4KViews1like4Comments
