Surface Pro 5
5 TopicsUEFI Passwords and Windows installation
I have a Surface pro 5 with several issues. First, I do forgot the UEFI password. I have opened the computer hoping to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery. None there. Is there another way? Second, I am trying to reinstall windows. Currently, the drive has been reformatted. I have downloaded the recovery USB (besed on surface serial number) and run the install do a clean installation. It completes, but at the very end says there was a problem, and reverts back to unchanged. I have tried different builds with the same result. I'm using Surface Pro 5. Linux is installed in my surface right now. Maybe because I erased the window recovery partition when I installed Linux, I can't boot to the window install usb. I want to install the window again. What should I do? For your information, Linux install usb boots normally. Windows Install usb was created using the program downloaded from the Microsoft website and the iso file.751Views0likes0CommentsBig circular dots on the touch screen
Hi, I have been using surface pro since 2019. Not sure, if it is Surface pro 4 but in the Surface app it shows Surface Pro 5th Gen. Yesterday is noticed the overheating and suddenly i saw many touch points as circular dots in the screen due to which usb mouse and touchpad both stopped working. It seems that the touchscreen got frozen by these touch dots. (Image attached) I shut it down using shortcut keys. Re-started after a while, then everything found fine. Worked for a while and again dots reappeared today. I don't know if it is display problem or touchscreen drivers problem. I hardly use touchscreen because i use a keyboard and mouse for all the tasks. Please help!!! Thank you!1.9KViews0likes1Comment
