Reverse Azure File Serivces
Since the decommission of StorSimple back in late 2022, AFS has been working great. Due to some cost saving initiatives, I've been asked to bring back the data from AFS to on-premises. Been working on this for a couple of months and have determined that this isn't as easy. I have the sequence of events documented but if anyone has performed this action, I'd really like to speak to them. I've engaged Microsoft on several support tickets and they've been great (a bit confused as to why we're even considering this) but still have to complete this task. Just to get another admin's perspective to determine if my plan is correct and not left anything out. Thanks, Stan
StorSimple 8600 Encryption for Locally Pinned Volumes
Is it possible to have encrypted locally pinned volumes on StorSimple? If so, can you point to me Microsoft documentation? All of what I have read appears to say that encryption happens when it leaves the device and when the data is at rest in Azure (AES-256)
Storsimple - Dir command
Hi. When getting the file list with the dir command in storsimple, will all the data that climbed up will be downloaded locally once? Or just accessing metadata index such as file information? When putting 40 TB of data in the storsimple, some of them seems to climb to the cloud, but do not download meta information of the file as well as the file itself locally after executing the dir command? I would like to search only the meta information of the file at high speed, but is there any support (eg meta information search API etc)? Thanks.How do I view or reset my Snapshot Manager password for a StorSimple Device?
I would like to create a StorSimple Virtual Array and in order to do so I need my Snapshot Manager password (amongst two other credentials), but no one who had set it up appears to remember this 14 or 15 character password. So how do I reset it in ARM? There is documentation in Classic, but we have since moved on from that. If it takes getting rid of our snapshots in StorSimple we can accept that.
