SharePoint 2019 On-Prem
4 TopicsHybrid SharePoint - Multiple Environments
Hi, I am currently working in an environment implementing a Hybrid SharePoint deployment. On-premise we have 3 environments in 2 AD domains. Prod SharePoint - (Prod Domain) Pre-Prod - (Prod Domain) Development - Development Domain Now the issue comes in the SharePoint online tenancy setup - Prod is talking to our Production tenancy and Dev talks to a separate tenancy because its in a separate AD domain. The only tenancy we could link Pre-Prod to is our Production Online Tenant but we would need to do some form of data segregation to ensure prod users can only see prod data and pre-prod users could only see pre-prod data. How do other people do this? The only other option is to accept the risk we can't test hybrid functionality in Pre-Prod which isn't ideal.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsUpdating data in Sharepoint 2019 on prem List using excel
Hello, I have a list in SP2019 on prem. I need to update a lot of fields that broke during the SharePoint migration. For example, data in an entire column is messed up. Instead of opening each item in the list and editing (I have hundreds of rows) I am wondering if there is a way to synch the list with excel so I can drag and copy rows that would have the same data. The problem is that the SP site is live and lots of people use it, so I cannot do an export to excel, fix the data and reupload because I would override the changes that are happening in the site while I am working. I can't freeze the site either. Is there a functionality similar to the way we can open MS Teams files in excel and edit them in excel? I tried creating a channel in Teams and open it in SharePoint but it will not let me because our company's Teams is on the cloud and our SP is on prem... So, any suggestions on how I can edit a lot of data in the SharePoint List easily, without having to open one by one? Thanks!940Views0likes0CommentsSharePoint 2019 on-premise : During site search, on click documents are downloading
Hello, On On-premise 2019, we do have Office Online enabled/installed to open documents within the browser. When I open a document from doc lib, it opens in browser fine. But the same file when I search for it, from the search results page, it automatically starts to download, instead of opening it in browser. Any help would be greatly appreciated.910Views0likes0CommentsNews web part +Add link showing to Visitor (Read) permission level SP2019 (on-prem)
I have SP2019 Standart Edition (on-prem) setup with Communication site. One of the web parts used is News. The permissions settings on News web part is set to have unique permissions and follow https://sharepointmaven.com/news-and-announcements-web-parts-in-sharepoint/ as reference to set 3 SP Groups ( OOTB settings for Owner, Member, Visitor). However, the link "+ Add" still showing to users with Visitor (Read) permission. Is this a bug? Any advice or workaround to resolve this problem?1.1KViews0likes1Comment
