Excel Online Ribbon not visible on SP2016 xlsx file
We have a Sharepoint 2016 environment. Something strange happens when we open a XSLX file in Excel Online: the ribbon is not showing. I have tested this in Chrome and IE11. Also this only happens on XSLX files. An older XLS file opens Online and shows the ribbon. Docx files also open without issues. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a spreadsheet that when you enter data in A2 the rest of the sheet auto fills out. I am pulling the data from two separate files that are saved in a different location on the server. The formula I am using is index...match... I was wondering if I could still use the file but change where I am pulling the data from separate file over to sharepoint.
