Server Insider
4 TopicsServer Insider: lack of attention / releases
I really feel that the Server side of Windows Insider isn't getting enough attention - They stopped making blog posts for many releases (or any form of heads up that a new build got uploaded at the DL page) - New builds can take between 1-3 months to arrive, over the past 2 years there were even exceptions of like 5-6 months, while the regular Windows insider builds structure is followed. Even the build numbers are followed. They also don't care if one or multiple patch tuesdays are missed for Insider Server (due to lack of a new build, just like regular Windows Insider receives) Every thursday, im looking at any source that tells me a new build may be available, but 9 out of 10 times i get disappointed. Yesterday and today as well, the last build available is25379 from 3 weeks ago, which happens to be an undocumented one without blog post. Any way that Microsoft will consider taking the insider program for Server more seriously? It was possible in the past, so it must be pretty doable to merge/backport regular insider changes to this branch. Are there less employees, or what? Why is the care lowered?Solved2.8KViews4likes15CommentsWhere can I download older Server Insider builds?
Since 25083 doesn't seem to work (and I can't perform an in-place upgrade, it goes through the wizard and then fails straight away - tried it on a bare metal server as well as a VM) I'd like to try an older build. Is there a place where I can download an older build?1.4KViews1like1CommentWindows Server on ARM (Insider Previews) availability
Last year it appears around 3 preview versions of Windows Server on ARM architecture were released to the insider community - possibly one may have been bundled inside a Windows 10 Insider download. Does anyone retain a copy of those ISOs and would you be willing to share for testing purposes? And what is the current status of this project?15KViews0likes3CommentsUse DDA to pass GPU to container
Dear community, I want to pass a Quadro GPU to a container on a Windows Server host. What I want to change in our build infrastructure are idleing machines. We got Linux machines and Windows machines. Different Linux distributions. Some of them are idleing most of the time. So I thought about moving everything, Linux and Windows, in a container and run the GPU tests (CUDA and OpenGL) there. Since Linux containers don’t have access to the GPU I was wondering if I can make use of and assign the GPU to any of my containers at runtime? If this is possible, can you please explain how this is done? Ialso asked in the docker forums: https://forums.docker.com/t/gpu-in-container/540584.1KViews0likes2Comments
