Looks like another Stable version of the new Edge browser resurfaced on Microsoft Servers. this is Not a coincidence, bug nor a mistake, it's intentional. I just don't know why not put it on the front page. Anyway, this so called stable version can't be uninstalled. it neither lists it in Control Panel’s Programs and Features nor allows to uninstall from Apps & Features in the Settings App. Previously when we installed Edge stable version we were able to uninstall it like any application by visiting Programs and Features in Control Panel or by visiting Settings > Apps & Features, where for Microsoft Edge, Settings app displays Modify and Uninstall options, this is not the case in Windows 10 version 1903 running build 18362.418. The Hunter mode button of Revo Uninstaller also fails to find and display Microsoft Edge for advanced uninstall. at the moment the only solution seems possible is using the system restore.Solved50KViews10likes35CommentsMicrosoft will be pushing out the new Edge via Windows Update to the majority of Windows 10 users
Microsoft will be pushing out the update, replacing the old Edge, to all Windows 10 users on Windows 10 RS4 (April 2018 Update) and newer. but there is a way Not to get it if you don't want to. To help our customers become more secure and up-to-date, Microsoft will distribute Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) through Automatic Updates for Windows 10 RS4 and newer. The Blocker Toolkit is intended for organizations that would like to block automatic delivery of Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) to machines in environments where Automatic Updates is enabled. The Blocker Toolkit will not expire. For computers running Windows 10 RS4 and newer, the Blocker Toolkit prevents the machine from receiving Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) via Automatic Updates. The Blocker Toolkit will not prevent users from manually installing Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) from internet download, or from external media. Organizations do not need to deploy the Blocker Toolkit in environments managed with an update management solution such as Windows Server Update Services or System Center Configuration Manager. Organizations can use those products to fully manage deployment of updates released through Windows Update and Microsoft Update, including Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based), within their environment. You can download the Blocker Toolkit executable file from https://msedgeblockertoolkit.blob.core.windows.net/blockertoolkit/MicrosoftEdgeChromiumBlockerToolkit.exe. Currently in Google chrome: stable is on version 79. Beta on 80 Dev on 80 (soon to become 81) Canary on 81 on Microsoft side: Beta: 79 Dev: 80 Canary: 80 sooner or later the Beta should be moved to ver 80 too, Dev and Canary to 81. so by the time the first stable version of Edge will be released, it should logically have the version 80. (in January 15 2020) or else Microsoft's Edge browser will always be behind the Google chrome's browser in terms of everything.1.8KViews0likes2Comments
