Record Versions
1 TopicUnable to delete record versions with labels from Preservation Hold Library
Hello, I am looking for assistance in deleting a specific version of a record from the preservation hold library (PHL) but am unable to do so. Can you please advise on the correct steps one would need to follow for this purpose? Here is the scenario: I have created and published a record label to a site. The label marks the items as records (but not regulatory records). Record versioning is enabled on the tenant and users can unlock records to edit them. Of course, when they unlock the record, a version of the record is preserved in PHL. I have site collection admin access and I can delete the documents outside PHL with the record label using this: I can remove the label on the file. I can delete the file. I am unable to do the same on the versions/files inside the PHL: When I try to remove the label, I get a message: "The label that's applied to this item prevents it from being edited or deleted. Check the item's label for more details." When I try to delete the file (with the label still present), I get: "Item wasn't delete from Records. If attempting to delete a non-empty folder, it is possible that it is on hold." If I unlock the file in PHL, it lets me unlock it but I cannot lock it again with the same error message: "The label that's applied to this item prevents it from being edited or deleted. Check the item's label for more details." Now, the item is permanently stuck in the unlocked state. I am not sure what else I can do. I just want to be able to delete a single version of the record from PHL.1KViews0likes1Comment
