The project helped me get a good understanding of HL7 data used in the medical industry. It was very enlightening writing python scripts to extract data from the documents. Using the FarmBeats Student Kit to learn more about IoT, Digital Agriculture and Precision Farming
FarmBeats is a venture of Microsoft Research that was launched in 2015 as a prototype for an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for agriculture. Stemming from the concept of Digital Agriculture, it uses technologies such as low-cost sensors, drones, vision, white space, cloud computing and Machine Learning algorithms to combat very little or no-power in farms. Consequently, the FarmBeats platform has not only allowed for real-time seamless data collection from sensors, cameras and drones but also for storage and complex processing within Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, known as Microsoft Azure.A Statistical Solution to Synthetic Data Generation for Patient Files
The project I created for the FHIR hackathon is a mathematically driven library which generates a DataFrame of patient files given input data, which preserves statistical properties of the original data. The type of statistics employed is an important demonstrator of a method of generating synthetic data given a small initial dataset to base it on, and is a technique that will generally surpass widely used (but data-intensive) deep learning techniques on these types of smaller datasets.Using Unity to Create an Engaging Eye-Tracking Puzzle Game- a UCL & Microsoft IXN Project

Theaim was to produce a rich and unique eye tracking game for individuals affected by severely disabling conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Spinal Cord injuries. Individuals with these conditions often retain good control of their eyes, however there is a lack of applications and games that are designed for and fully support the use of eye tracking. As a result, we started developing Of Mice and Messages - a pipe-based eye tracking puzzle game where users solve each level to read the next message in an overarching storyline.
