7 TopicsEdge Canary creators updates notifications not working
Hello everyone, I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I've been facing with Edge Canary. As mentioned https://twitter.com/AlexDeAlexis/status/1624839133737762821 I posted yesterday, I've been having trouble receiving notifications for updates from the creators I follow. I've double-checked my settings and everything seems to be configured correctly. I would appreciate if anyone else has come across this issue and could share any potential solutions. Thank you for your time and assistance in advance. Best regards, Alex.534Views0likes0Commentsukons.click notifications
Hello. Does anyone know what ukons.click does, please? I was helping a work colleague recently and they mentioned that when the ukons.click (via Microsoft Edge) notifcation was enabled they received constant notifications about malware and that it should be removed or their machine scanned (or a similar mesage). They have Norton 360 on their computer and MBAM and neither have detected any malicious software/PUPs etc. Obviously, disabling the notification stops them. However, it is worrying for the work colleague. I have checked my notifications and ukons.click is not listed. I understand this may not be a Microsoft Edge issue but if anyone knows where this comes from I would be very grateful. Thank you.1.5KViews0likes2Commentsadd an edge notification (not a macos notification) if we open more than x tabs
this means that if i batch open tabs, and maybe i think i just opened 130, but now we are at 295, you should warn me at 300 (for example). in such way i know that i need to stop open new tabs, and i need to first check all other 299 tabs, or i need to save my 299 tabs for later and continue with my activity. the notification shouldn't happen via macos, because i disable edge macos notification at all. you should do it via the browser directly, or maybe color the last created tab to red. goal: keep working without reaching a situation of total slow down, because in such situation is difficult to save tabs too. Once I saw that all of my extensions were crashing and I was notified about that by notifications from Edge but the difference I spotted is that they were Edge designed notifications rather than the default Windows 10 one as shown in the screenshot. They had a very nice animation that they would slide from the right and then and it would go by shrinking itself into a point just like a pinch rather than the slightly broken animation that the default Windows 10 one has and also they can stay on top of each other which the Windows 10 one cannot. So, I am suggesting that all notifications should be the Edge designed ones because they look better and work very properly than the default Windows 10 one. If you like this suggestion, then please send feedback about it through the in-app feedback tool (Alt+Shift+I) in Microsoft Edge to give it a +1 to make it a part of Microsoft Edge in the future.686Views0likes0CommentsNotifications coming out from Microsoft Edge to Windows 10 should have time limit
The notifications that come out from Microsoft Edge to Windows 10 stay forever on the screen till the close button or the right arrow is not clicked. I would suggest that the notifications coming out from Edge should have a time limit of disappearing from the screen and going to the action center of Windows 10 same as the Mail app in Windows 10.1.2KViews1like0CommentsNew notification options in latest Edge Canary
There is a new flag added called Quieter notification permission prompts Enables quieter permission prompts for notification permission requests. When a site wishes to show notifications, the usual modal dialog is replaced with a quieter version. – Mac, Windows To use flags, enter this into your Edge insider address bar: edge://flags/ you could test it on websites like this https://tests.peter.sh/notification-generator/ so basically, the default and enabled options show notifications like this Force static icon option shows notifications like this (little bell at the end of the omnibos/address bar) force animated icon option shows notifications like this (at first there is little bell icon with text but then the text disappears with animation and only bell icon will be there) I think these are nice options that are pretty useful when websites use annoying constant notification spams. hopefully after some time, these options will be added to the settings page1.4KViews1like0Comments
