We have a number of field personnel setup with Teams/PSTN calling plans. They assumed that their PSTN number would be able to send/receive SMS text messages to interact with people outside the organization, but this doesn't seem to be the case. (Apparently RingCentral supports this?) We just had one field sales rep complain that their lead had been texting her, but she never received the text messages. Of course we don't want to share personal mobile numbers with business contacts, and having a separate PSTN number and Mobile cell #'s just to support this seems excessive and old school, but maybe that's the only solution. Are there any plans to support this type of functionality? I don't necessarily care whether it's Teams or Skype for Business client based - but the ability to interface Microsoft Phone System PSTN with SMS is what we need. I see some third party products that give you the ability to text from SfB, but they do so by assigning you a dedicated additional telephone number - clearly not the solution that would work for us. Thanks in advance! Bob8.1KViews1like4CommentsSkype for Business Mobile App + Smart Card Required
I'm using Skype for Business via my Office365 subscription and my domain in Office365 is federated against my on-prem ADFS-infrastructure. My user in the local AD have the option "Require Smart Card for interactive logon" enabled, which means that I do not know my own AD-password. When I tried to login to Skype for Business on my Android phone, the app wanted my username and password to sign in, but unfortunately the password is unknown for me since I have "Require Smart Card for interactive logon" enabled in local AD. Is there any way for me to get the Skype for Business app to work on my phone (Android & iOS) without knowing my own AD-password?Solved7.1KViews0likes23CommentsMobile Apps, internal use, certificate warnings
Hi, We are currently deploying Skype for business mobile apps for internal use. Before that, the use of mobile apps was mostly external. No problem... But it appears that by using applications internally, users receive many warning related to the fact that internally, certificates are signed by the Active Directory Certification Authority. In BYOD scenario, we can deploy our root CA to device, not a problem, but for some population, mobile are only used as "mobile Lync Phone", and when you deploy root CA to android phones, you are required to set an unlock code. This is not compatible with the intended use. Is there a way to prevent this ? After a lot of reading I have find a discussion saying that you have to redirect ALL https connections like meet.domain.com, including desk phones, windows clients, etc..., to reverse proxy, like that it's our public certicates that are presented to mobile. This seems to me completely absurd and at least not optimized So what is the good practice for Mobile Apps using internally with internal certs from ADCS ? I'm using iOS 11.2. Every time I start up the S4B mobile app on my phone, I get this error message: "Saving phone number disabled due to the server policy". It doesn't seem to cause any actual problems, everything still works normally as far as I can tell. Any thoughts about what might be causing this error message, though? My colleague with an identical phone isn't experiencing the issue. Thanks, Rob4.3KViews0likes7CommentsSign in as guest on iPhone not available?
Per the Microsoft support site it seems users can sign into Skype for Business meetings as guests on Android phones but not on iPhones. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Join-a-Skype-for-Business-meeting-on-a-mobile-device-b19a0e55-fb72-4990-9019-2abd6a02cfcf#OS_Type=Android If you send a Skype for Business meeting invite to an external contact with an iPhone they are asked to download the Skype for Business meeting app but are not given the option to sign in as guest. Is there a solution for this?Solved3.9KViews0likes2CommentsSkype for business crashes on iOS
Hi! I’m getting a bit desperate here, i have a Client that runs Skype for business in office365. No issues at all on Windows or android. Now his android phone broke and he switched to an iPhone. On the iPhone the app just dies after like 4 seconds on login. We have tried several iPhones with the same result. And it is just his account that seem to cause this issue if a colegue to him sign in on his phone there is no issues. I provide the logs from the app. Device Model:iPhone Device OS Name:iOS Device OS Version:11.0.2 Application Version:6.17.2.5 2017-10-14 07:04:33.260 00000001b4103b80 INFO UTILITIES I am having an issue passing a certificate into the Skype for Business Application. When I launch the App and login - I properly get directed to my ADFS login. But when I touch on "Sign in using an X.509 certificate" - it redirects to a blank white page and just sits there. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/07/18/azuread-certificate-based-authentication-for-ios-and-android-now-in-preview/ says that I need to install the "Azure Authenticator" app, but I cannot find that in the App Store. This articles comments section also says the: "Azure Authenticator provides SSO capabilities which is one of the many benefits of the app. Office applications have the ability to use Azure Authenticator for authentication. To enable certificate authentication, Azure Authenticator has been updated to use the safari viewcontroller which allows it to access the user certificate provisioned in the system keychain. Without it, the certificate can’t be accessed by Office applications." Two questions: 1. Where is this app and how can I configure it? 2. Can I use Certificate Based Authentication (with ADAL/Modern Auth) with an on premises Skype for Business server?3.6KViews0likes1CommentiOS Device cannot login to SFB Client

hi, I have several users with iphone and android SFB Online latest app (6.14) who encountered issue that during deep sleep (> 30 minutes sleep), they couldn't receive incoming call. Just wonder what is used to detect the incoming call during deep sleep? (1) push notification (2) persistent sip connection with the SFB online server. (3) others? Thank you.2.6KViews0likes8Comments
