In our global SharePoint Online intranet we have set all country sites as Official news sites and targeted news for each country. The problem with Viva Connections notifications in Teams occurs in one of the country sites: people who belong to the target group receive at least 4 notifications per news post (1 or 2 per day) saying "Review important news from your organization". This site is multilingual so there are 8 language versions for each news post. Do Viva Connections send a notification from each language version separately? However, people do not get 8 notifications - just 2 to 5 notifications per news post. This is very annoying and we receive a lot of complaints. Why do we receive this kind of reoccurring notifications and what can we do to prevent them? From all other sites we receive just regular notifications (1 per news post) saying "<Someone> published news"126Views0likes1CommentViva connections icon change in Teams mobile app shows blank square
Hello, Last week we setup our SPO intranet site as a home site set as the default experience in Viva Connections in MS Teams. Whilst this works well in the desktop app, when using the Teams mobile app a custom icon we've deployed, doesn't show and instead just shows this blank square as highlighted below: Is this happening because the teams mobile app doesn't support custom icons? or have we missed something in the Viva Connections configuration to get the custom icon deployed correctly to the teams mobile app? Thanks!349Views1like1CommentNotifications for SharePoint news on desktop teams client - Best Practices?
Hello Community, I have a customer that has a SharePoint Intranet . They have many, many sites and a home site. On the home site the news from all sites are aggregated. This works fine. They also see the news in viva connections. This works fine. They get notifications about new news on their mobile phones. This works fine. But they don't get any notifications in the activity feed in teams if there is a new SharePoint news on any of the sites. (Like you get a notification if someĆ³ne sends an announcement in Viva Engage) I did not find any information about such a feature. I mean I could alway build a flow or something like that. This would be easy, if I only had one SharePoint site with news, but I have many sites. And the customer does not want the news to create teams messages, but just to create an activty item. I am pretty sure this is doable with a flow, but that seems to be quire complicated. For the Requirement: "Notify me in teams if there is a new SharePoint news" How would you deal with such a requirement? Any Ideas? Hello all, We're currently experiencing an issue in SharePoint online used through Viva connections in Teams. The issue is visible in both the desktop as web application. When we open sites via Viva connections we're able to see content and documents on pages but when we use the horizontal navigation bar to navigate to certain folders we're seeing a blank screen in Teams in the desktop and browser. In SharePoint online we don't see this issue. (Navigating to a folder) (Blank screen) The same issue can be found here that was posted by someone else experiencing this issue:Links to SharePoint document folders do not work within the Viva - Microsoft Community Kind regards, Siebe ST816Views0likes6CommentsNews Spotlight in the new desktop experience is not respecting audience targeting.
I can't find any documentation that says this is or is not an intended behavior, but the new News Spotlight is not respecting audience targeted. I have confirmed that multiple US employees are seeing posts targeted at Canada only, and myself (a contractor who is not a part of any AD groups used for targeting) can see all the news posts, including this one. Does anyone have any insight into the behavior of the News Spotlight? I fear we may have to scrap the Viva Connections app all together and go with a custom Teams App that takes you strait to the home page. Personalization was a key factor in moving to Viva Connections.318Views0likes3CommentsScoped search not available in Teams client
Hi all! New here, first post. According to this post in the roadmap, scoped search in the Teams client should be up and running. However, we can't see it. Or rather, we saw it for a couple of days back in October (?) but then it disappeared. We can see and use it in Teams on the web, but it would be so much better and easier for us if we could use it in the client. Is there a setting we're missing? Or is it a bug? Can anyone here confirm that they can use scoped search in the Teams client? We have a home site set up in Viva Connections that we want to be able to search through the search box in Teams. Thanks in advance!937Views1like9CommentsVIVA Connections & SharePoint
When setting up VIVA Connections with a connections experience, you are required to make this a home site for it to be visible on the Connections app in Teams. What I can't see to find clarity on is the below - If a company has an existing SharePoint homepage that everyone accesses will that be changed when the new experience is set as the home page or does it depend on who it is targeted to?Solved405Views0likes2CommentsDeepLinking - Viva Connection in Teams - Link to SP page from team message
I am creating a post in teams channels when a News page is created and published. I want to be able to create a URL to the specific sharepoint page that opens in the Viva Connection app in Teams. Currently the only URL i have been able to create is a URL that opens in the browser. I have tried this powershell script: # Define variables $vivaConnectionsAppId = "00000000-0000-0000-0000-ee00425598aa" $sharePointPageUrl = "https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/net/SitePages/MyPage.aspx" # Encode the SharePoint URL $encodedSharePointPageUrl = [System.Web.HttpUtility]::UrlEncode($sharePointPageUrl) # Generate the deep link $deepLink = "https://teams.microsoft.com/l/entity/$vivaConnectionsAppId/?webUrl=$encodedSharePointPageUrl" # Open the deep link in the default web browser Start-Process $deepLink The URL i get from this looks like this for example: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/entity/00000000-0000-0000-0000-ee00425598aa/?webUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fcompany.sharepoint.com%2Fsites%2FIntranat%2FSitePages%2FMyPage.aspx When someone clicks on the link. Teams opens the viva connection app but only display the startpage of the site. It does not go to the specific page (in this example "MyPage.aspx" How should i create the URL to deeplink to the specific page in Viva Connection?
