Share with specific people

But https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/external-or-guest-sharing-in-onedrive-sharepoint-and-lists-7aa070b8-d094-4921-9dd9-86392f2a79e7 states The recipients won't need a Microsoft account. Is there a difference in the two scenarios which I don't recognize? Or is this a recent change where one of the two documentations has not been properly updated yet?
