Is there a way to convert a O365 group to a shared mailbox; or at least move all of the emails/conversations from an O365 group to a shared mailbox? I know that it is recommended to use O365 groups rather than shared mailboxes, however, until I can easily setup a way to automatically send "from" an O365 group, it is just easier to open up a shared mailbox from OWA and use that. My use case is I want a "office@company.com" email address that I can assign to the office secretary and yet have the secretary have their own account. This way, the person in the secretary position changes, I can just re-assign the "office@company.com" email and all of the associated information (contacts, calendar, etc).88KViews2likes8CommentsMigrating Shared Mailbox to O365 Group?
If we have a shared mailbox, lets say a years worth of history of emails, several folders in it, and we want to "migrate" over to an O365 Group: Does the conversations/inbox of a group have folder capabilities like a Shared Mailbox? Can you drag and drop/copy old emails into the group somehow? Can you drag and drop/copy conversations into your mailbox somehow? I had assumed the Group conversations acted like a shared mailbox, but now that we are testing it out, I dont really see that at all.Solved47KViews2likes13CommentsIs there a "Sent" folder for an O365 Group Conversation?
If I grant a user access to SendAs the O365 Group, and they send an email "as the group", and they don't copy themself, where does that email actually go. I can't find any record of it anywhere inside the group (only in the inbox of the recipient).21KViews2likes18CommentsHow do I migrate old mails from PST file or public folder into a Group?
I have to migrate several old projects into (new) Office Groups. One of the tasks is to 'import' (lots of) old mails for reference. Sometimes I have old (and shared) PST files as source. In other cases the mails are stored in old public folders. It seems not to be that easy. Can Powershell be a solution? I appreciate any hint.15KViews0likes15Commentsremove the outlook mailbox of an office 365 group
So i believe the current functionality is such that if you create an office 365 group by creating a team in teams then the group will not be visible in outlook. No mailbox, calendar, etc. I would like to see if there is a way to do this with an older group which appears in teams and outlook, we do not need the outlook features of the group (mailbox/etc.) the group pretty much live in Teams and SharePoint. the general feeling is that it is a little confusing to users to see the group everywhere, as far as where to participate in the conversation. just seems like unneeded bloat to list them all in outlook. Anyway, the question is is there a way to remove the group from outlook but keep it for Teams/Sharepoint/Planner/etc.?Solved15KViews0likes1CommentNon-Member of Private Group able to email group - is this correct?
We have a private group, but recently received an email message from someone who is not a member of the group. I know that the private groups are listed in the I thought private groups only allowed messages to be sent from other members. Is this correct? We want to start to use groups but we are not ready to move our Exchange mailboxes to Exchange Online. Currently, when we try to access the conversation, calendar or members of a group, we get an error saying that the mailbox cannot be found. Is this the expected behaviour? Is there a way to use groups while we have an hybrid configuration? We found that, if we create a Team for a group, the members can be managed in the Team UI. Why can't we have the same option when working at the group level? This question was asked in a different thread but was never answered. I'm trying to compile a PS report that will show me the size of each group mailbox within my O365 Groups. Get-mailboxstatistics works for individual group mailboxes using the primarysmtpaddress, Identity, ID, etc., but I want to be able get them all using the Recipienttype, RecipienttypeDetails, or even MailboxtypeDetails (which shows as 'GroupMailbox' in the get-mailboxstatistics CMDLET). I've tried filtering by the above (where-object), and then piping to get-mailboxstatistics but get nothing. Despite looking, I haven't seen too much on this and I am anticipating a need for it for admin purposes. Thanks! It also made me wonder about how MS is going to approach these 'group mailboxes' from a licensing standpoint, esp since we're now required to assign an Exchange Plan 2 license to our shared/resource mailboxes.Solved12KViews0likes9Comments
