Intune Win32 Apps
5 TopicsAccessing Win32 App metadata from detect/prereq/program scripts
I have been trying to standardize some workflows w Intune Win32 apps. Reusing components would be ideal, but how you inject the specific context into an instance of a win32 app is where i am researching. For Detect and Requirement scripts those execute before the intunewin is downloaded or extracted so including a psd1 might work for the Program phase, but can't help the others. Arguments are also more of a Program phase thing and not really supported w Detection and Pre-req phase. One thing I was wondering though was if agentexecutor set any process environment variables available in the Intune App itself. Basically is any of the content in the App Information page available to scripts running in detect, requirement, and program phases?358Views0likes0CommentsWin32 App Deployment: "This app is no longer detected on your device" message
Trying to build/deploy Win32 apps in Intune, two of them display the following message: "This app is no longer detected on your device. It may have been uninstalled or updated to a different version." One is a printer driver install script, the other an update for a piece of software. It seems that the app does not install/fails after attempting to install. What causes this behavior/what do I need to do differently to get this to install properly? Thanks!1.3KViews0likes4CommentsWin32 app install not showing up in Start Menu/Apps List
We have a Win32 app that we're deploying as an Available app through Company Portal. The files for the app show up in C:\Program Files (x86) in the app's folder on the endpoint; however, the app doesn't appear in the Start Menu or Programs and Features/Apps. Intune reports this app as "installed," but it's truly not. I haven't seen another app behave like this so far. Installing the program manually, outside of Intune, the app icon shows up in the Start Menu and it's recognized as an installed program in Programs and Features/Apps. How do we get this to be recognized as an installed app on the computer/Start Menu icon?Solved2.6KViews0likes9CommentsHow to convert existing discovered apps for windows 11 enrolled devices to intune managed apps
I have a number of enrolled computers that are EntraID joined which have marketplace applications like WinRAR and Notepad++ that were installed locally before enrollment. Additional users also had local Admin permissions and had installed those apps at some point. By using Defender Vulnerability and Intune Discovered apps, I added Win32 WinRAR and NotePad++ as available apps for enrolled devices, for example, in hopes of being able to then have the apps become Intune Managed. My next hopes were then to use Intune Supersedence to then manage their revisions, accomplishing the ability to manage vulnerabilities and application versions. Does anyone know if there is a way to take a discovered app that was preinstalled on a computer like WinRAR or Notepad++ and "convert" them to managed apps in Intune?1.2KViews0likes3Comments
