There are some key functionalities of the Windows 10 taskbar that got everything right, and I don't know why they got removed in Windows 11. I would like to see them added back in. Three main features that were instrumental as a video game player using Windows 10 taskbar and a multi-monitor setup: 1. Click+Drag (or alternate setting) after unlocking the taskbar to move the taskbar to whatever portion of the screen you wanted it on. 2. Vertical space is a premium in horizontal monitor orientations, side oriented task bars are excellent for these scenarios. 3. Clocks on alternate monitor taskbar. Windows 11 is missing it from alternate monitor task bars. My primary monitor is the one the games always start on, why can't I have a visible clock on my alternate monitor's taskbar as a default feature of Windows 11?1KViews1like1CommentPlease add this feature soon!!!
Please allow us to set different taskbars for different desktops, it would be so helpful to have this feature as I obviously use different apps for school and work. Having the right apps pinned to my taskbar depending on which desktop I am using would be way more convenient and help me focus.940Views2likes1CommentProvide an 'Edit with Paint' context option on right-clicking a picture file
This is a feature I have wanted since Windows XP, and would save me a great deal of frustration; Instead, I need to right-click a file, and select 'Open With', then browse for paint, if it hasn't been used yet. There are a great deal of situations where this is productive, though in particular if I need to open an image file, while having an 'Open with' window open for another application. An alternative solution would be an 'open file location' right-click context option, that opens the folder the file is in, such that I can use the file from the file explorer, though admittedly this is a lot more time-consuming b/c it will require closing the file explorer. An EVEN BETTER solution, would be to provide customization of the context options provided by right-click for all file extensions, but I am looking to open picture files in paint predominantly, because I have to edit images frequently while I am in a word document.1.4KViews1like2CommentsFeature Request to integrate WSLG with Multiple Desktops by integrating RDP with Multiple Desktops
It would be incredibly convenient if windows allowed apps to integrate with the multiple desktops/task view feature. The idea that sparked this for me was that it would be nice if I could create a new desktop for my wslg installation of ubuntu. And instead of creating a mini RDP window when launching apps from the start menu, it would check if I had an ubuntu desktop open and would create it there instead (Also preferences as a part of the windows settings app for this would be nice). Also it would be great if I could use the multiple desktops feature to switch to one of my remote computers. Additionally having the start menu shortcuts for wslg apps in a folder feels incredibly cumbersome and directly against the Win 11 ethos. Perhaps it would be better to find a better, more adaptable solution to this because it could also be applicable to android apps whenever that feature comes out. Perhaps this feature could be expanded to something like a Rich RDP where you could even launch apps on remote computers which you are not already connected to simply by clicking it in the start menu. While im on a roll here, I'm perplexed as to why Microsoft's clean new apps like console and RDP are not shipped as default programs with windows 11. I'm looking for an internship/full time pos too, are there any managers on the windows dev team that I could send my resume? lol654Views0likes0Comments
