Cannot see the new Bing-AI button in Edge Dev
Hello, I have recently installed Edge Dev 111.0.1660.6 and later updated to 111.0.1660.9. I did this because I wanted to try out the new Bing AI features, but the button that should be in the top right corner doesn't show up for me. I already passed the waitlist and can use the Bing-Chat features, but somehow I can't access the "AI Sidebar." Can anyone here help me fix this? Thank you in advance!
Edge Dev 101.0.1193.0 will not start
Just started this AM. When I try to open Edge Dev, it pops an all white window and then closes with no error. Downloaded and reinstalled, repaired but still fails to open. Nothing of note in the event log. Any ideas? Guess the next step is to remove it and reinstall.How to clear "All data from the previous version of Microsoft Edge"?

Go to "Settings"-->"Privacy, search, and services"-->"Choose what to clear", and open the "Clear browsing data" page; 2. Check "All data from the previous version of Microsoft Edge", and click "Clear now"; 3. Open the "Clear browsing data" page again and check the option. Expected results: The "All data from the previous version of Microsoft Edge" item is not displayed. Hi guys, I have logged this feedback via the browser (whilst I had the time) but I wanted to see if others are having similar problems. I am confident it is linked to Big Sur as Catalina had no issues at all. The issue: - I run Edge and start using it, sometimes it will last maybe an hour, sometimes only a few minutes and it will terminate. - I do not browse the same combination of sites every time. - I have been forced to use Chrome Canary as an alternative, but this doesn't crash at all. (version 86.0.423.0) - This is a problem with Edge, Edge Beta and Edge Dev too as I have installed all of those and it does the same thing. - Interestingly, just before the last force close, I ran Edge Canary via the Terminal script inside the app icon (show package contents > contents > MacOS) it had shown me this in the Terminal window: [0812/102241.519215:WARNING:process_memory_mac.cc(93)] mach_vm_read(0x7ffee6b73000, 0x2000): (os/kern) invalid address (1) [0812/102242.473112:WARNING:crash_report_exception_handler.cc(258)] UniversalExceptionRaise: (os/kern) failure (5) zsh: segmentation fault My stats: - At the time of writing I was running Edge Canary Version 86.0.605.0 and I am on the Insider Fast ring. - Macbook Air 13 Inch Early 2014 - Big Sur Beta Version 20A5343i (the crashes have happening since Developer Beta 1) I am not looking for an immediate fix, but perhaps some contact with devs and fellow Edge lovers to sort this issue out, I HATE having to use Chrome 😞
How to make Edge Dev as the default browser in Microsoft 10?
Hi everyone! Is it possible to make Microsoft Edge Dev my default browser? Every time I try to change it through Windows 10 "default app" settings, the settings window keeps crashing and nothing changes. Any idea how to solve it? Thank you!
[SUGGESTION] restrict horizontal movement when scrolling horizontally
Hi all, I've been using the Microsoft Edge beta build 79.0.309.11 (Official build) dev (64-bit) on my laptop. Since it's a laptop, i've been using it predominantly with a touchpad with windows precision drivers. While using the browser, I found that scrolling on the touchpad (two finger swipes) often result in some horizontal movement at the end of the swipe, possibly due to my fingers not swiping completely vertical. Might be due to the back and forward swipe gestures too. This results in quite a jarring experience especially when following text while scrolling. May I suggest that if the browser detects vertical scrolling after a certain amount of distance, the horizontal scrolling is automatically disabled? If i'm not mistaken, most touch based devices do this.
Edge on Linux Mint; update didn't work, Edge won't start anymore - solved
Hi, I updated Edge on Linux Mint 18 to the latest version, but it seems the update broke Edge. It doesn't start anymore, I get a spinning wheel for a while, and that's it. The update procedure was basically the same as in Windows, I clicked the notification icon in the top right corner, and had Edge update & restart. Strangely enough, I didn't get a popup to run the update through the admin account, as is usual for updates. I did notice after the first try that the Edge update was also visible in the Update Manager, but that didn't solve the issue after running that process as well. So now Edge doesn't run. Any tips here? cheers! rob edit: it seems a full reboot of Linux did the trick. No idea what happened here, but at least if works again. 😉
