We are in the early stages of planning to migrate videos from Stream (Classic) to Stream (on SharePoint). One of the Groups we have has a total of 250+ videos. 75 videos are in the group container, while 175 videos are in different user containers. What is the best way to get all of those videos in the group container to have them migrate together? Any tips, insights, and ideas are appreciated!Stream(classic) migration containertype to New Stream
Currently Stream(classic) mostly we have 3 types of containers, which are: -CompanywideChannel -M365Group -User What should we do for "CompanywideChannels" without an owner(orphan)? I mean, I can't find the same environment or similar on SP with the same purpose as we had before, thoughts?? I know the documentation, and what MS recommend: Container Types Default Destination Folder Hierarchy Companywide-wide channel None (Admins can choose an existing SharePoint site or create a new one) Same as Microsoft 365 group. Each companywide channel will appear as a folder inside ‘Stream migrated videos’ folder. We recommend Admins divide companywide channels across multiple new or existing sites to avoid reaching the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/troubleshoot/lists-and-libraries/error-share-break-inheritance#cause. What I'm going to do is create a new SP(subsite) and store all of the content there. Does anyone pass through this situation? Thx in advanceHow and where are long-term use training videos to be stored in the New Stream?
I have training and certification videos that need to remain available for an indefinite length of time and is not to be associated with any particular TEAM or SPO site. Classic Stream has served us well for this purpose by allowing a video to be shared with everyone and not designated/stored in a specific 'workspace' other than Stream itself. My understanding is that recordings created after deploying the New Stream must be associated with/stored in an SPO website or ODB and will have an automatic delete/archive setting of x days (60, 90, ?) applied to it whether we want it or not unless we go through some sort of labeling and compliance admin setup on the tenant level. If this is true, it is unrealistic and not meeting the needs of all Stream users. While being able to store Stream videos in SPO and ODB is a good thing, stripping Stream of the ability to store videos and maintain them separately from SPO and ODB is also a good and needed feature, especially in the education world where lesson plans and resources are used from year to year and for multiple/different classes (i.e. TEAMS, SPO sites). Long-term storage without a designated time period or location outside of Stream must continue to be available. Am I misunderstanding the features and functions that are/remain available when the New Stream is enabled? If I am not, what is the solution for this use case? Clearly, I need it FAST since New Stream is being forced on us."Display" Option for Adding Video to Stream Group
Hello all! My school district is utilizing Office365 and I am building a professional development "on demand" Stream channel. I have uploaded roughly 20 videos through my individual (work) Stream account but I'd like to have those videos show up in my group's account (PFLN-InstructionalCoaches) so that other members of my team can access/edit the videos without having to add each team member individually to each video. It will also ensure new members can edit when the group grows. When I go to "Permissions" within the videos I have already uploaded to my individual account, I can add the group as an "Owner" of the video. Yet, the video still does not show up in the group. When I changed the Permissions to add the group as an Owner, I noticed there is a "Display" option next to "Owner", which I cannot check for the videos I uploaded to my individual account. It seems I need to have that option checked to have the video appear in the group (see photo below). When I upload a video through the group, I see the check mark appear under Display. How can I get the videos I have already uploaded through my individual Stream account to appear in the group videos without re-uploading all of the videos? (I do not want to re-upload all the videos through the group because I have linked the Stream videos to numerous places and do not want to break those links). On a related note, what is the point of making a group the Owner of a video if it does not appear anywhere in the group? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide! In the picture, both my personal account (original upload) and the group have "Owner" checked but I cannot check "Display" for the group:
