Charts & Visualizing Data

Few weeks ago, I was tasked to build a Gantt chart, but I didn’t have a clue on how to do it. So, I did it the “Old fashion way” using excel sheet and adding all the adjustments manually i.e., colors, timeline, dates and tasks. I completed the task, but I felt there was a way around it and that was when I discovered a visualization on Power BI where you can build a Gantt chart is just a matter of minutes. Let’s breakdown the step-by-step process to achieve this. Don’t worry if this is new to you🙂. Let’s get to the introduction.148KViews1like10CommentsDevon, UK does not show on Excel Maps

I'm working with numerous charts that are formatted with part column (# data) and part line (% data). Each month, new data is entered into the source spreadsheet. When selecting the appropriate data to update the charts, if not in consecutive cells, the formatting is lost and reverts back to either all colums or all lines. I want to maintain the combination of columns and lines in these charts when I select the data for a rolling 12-month period. Suggestions? Thank you.Solved14KViews0likes4CommentsHow can I stop Excel from changing the colors of my chart ?
I have a chart with past and forecasted figures for several series of data. I set the colors of each serie in order to have something nice and meaningful : 1 color per serie, dotted for forecast. Each time I filter my data to see a particular serie, Excel destroys my work to put back its automated layout which are ugly and meaningless. How can I prevent this ? Hello, I would like to create a map in Excel. I have Excel 2016, and according to the tutorial video online, I should be able to create a map of the US that shows differenct values for different areas. The button should be under "Insert" and in the Charts section, but I'm not seeing the button. All I see is a button that says 3D map, which does not allow me to save a picture of the map. Any help would be appreciated. Klara15KViews0likes8CommentsConditional Formatting based on the date of another column
Hi, I'm trying to conditionally format cells in column A based on their related to cells of the same row in column J. Essentially if the date in column A is before the day in column J I want the cell to go green If the date in column A is after the date in column J I want the cell to go red Is this possible? I cannot find a way to do it.41KViews0likes10CommentsHow to color-code points in a scatterplot by a third, non-quantitative data category
I have three columns of data. Two columns contain numerical data, which I want to plot on the x- and y-axis of a scatterplot. That part's easy. It's the next part that trips me up. I have a third column which contains categorical data. I want to use the values in this column to color-code all the "points" on the scatterplot. For example, in the attached screenshot, I would like the points in categories "A", "B", and "C" to each be assigned a color. I've tried a million things, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!126KViews0likes2Comments
