Has anyone setup / run any AVD Host Pools using AMD GPU (and AMD CPU)? NVas V4 series? How was the experience for users compared to the NVv3 NVIDIA / Intel VMs? Could you run 1 user per vCPU on a Host with no issues? How was GPU performance? I know the NV V4 series VMs use partial GPUs (except the NV32as V4 which uses a whole). For Applications that rely on GPU performance how did the AMD GPUs perform vs. NVDIA. Did you see any issues using the partial GPUs? Was CPU performance good vs, Intel CPUs?1.3KViews0likes1CommentGeneral AVD Slowness
We have a pool of NV24s_V3 VMs running. The VMs have 170+ applications on them so we have to keep the total number of users per VM down to 12. That being said, I can power on one of our VMs, let it boot up and sit for 10-15 minutes to get through all its startup processes and then login. When I login and get to my desktop, OneDrive will sync for a bit, but outside of that the CPU is under 10%, RAM is under 10% used and Disk Util is 15-20%. Even with those numbers low and me being the ONLY user on the VM, its still slow to open applications. It even takes 5-6 seconds for File Explorer to open. I see defender processes running under Disk stats, but it alone shouldnt be causing that kind of slow down, especially when the CPU / RAM / Disk stats are low. Anyone have any advice of something to look at to speed up performance? We have already excluded Defender from scanning Program Files and Program Files (x86). Just very troubling that its slow with just 1 user logging onto a 24 proc, 200+ GB RAM VM.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsAllocate Memory to Applicaitons in AVD
We've recently made a move from Citrix to MS AVD (windows 10 multisession). We've been told by a tech that AVD does not support the ability to assign memory/cpu per app. I am not an Azure tech and the searches I've done so far have come up empty. is there any definitive documentation from MS on this?Solved1KViews0likes1CommentAVD - CPU Usage - vCPUs
Hoping someone can explain this to me. We have NV24sv3 VMs running. We have noticed that if we get above 12 users on one of the VMs the overall CPU% goes between 70% - 90+% and I am not sure why. Our scaling script has its sessionthresholdperCPU set to 1, but it seems like sessions are taking up more CPU than they should. Also, I've noticed when logging in that all 24 logical processors on the VM will go up to 70+% while the login finishes and OneDrive loads. Why would all 24 be doing that for my login? Maybe I am misunderstanding sometthing, but it seems like sessions should be utilizing one of those logical processors correct? Any help is greatly appreciated.1.1KViews0likes0Comments
