Hello all, I am trying to use the Modern Site Pages in SharePoint Online, but I think one feature may be missing. I have a somewhat personalized view, where I show or hide webparts using Target Audiences (based on the specific role of the User). Can I accomplish this in the Modern Site Pages feature? Is this not supported? In case this is not supported, are there any workarounds or tips on how to implement this? What I want to do is to have 3 different views inside a webpart based on which of the three roles the user has. Thanks, G.10KViews2likes14CommentsAudience Targeting - News Web Part
We have a SharePoint Teams site which currently has certain web parts that have audience tartgeting, currently on the site we have Navigational Links & Quick Links which Audience Targeting works accordingly. However, for the news web part - any news thats featured here audience Targeting does not apply - we have security groups etc set up which work for other Tartgeting. However, for Example when we have News Article A which is targeted to Group A when a user logs onto a site for say Group B they are able to see this article on the main featured news part, nonetheless once they click the see all news article link above the featured articles, Article A is hide from Group B. Any idea why this won't work on featured articles on the main page.879Views0likes0CommentsModern audience in document library - updating audience in document library item from SPfX
We're building an SPX App to update audiences for documents stored in a library. We use modern audience. We have succeeded with the following PowerShell approach (but we need the SPFx option for the app): Set-PnPListItem -List $listName -Identity 5 -Values @{"_ModernAudienceTargetUserField" = "18"} Both Audiences ( _ModernAudienceTargetUserField) and IdAudiences (_ModernAudienceAadObjectIds) is updated with valid data. However, we were unsuccessful when trying to update data in _ModernAudienceTargetUserField or OData__ModernAudienceTargetUserField from SPfx code. Is this type of approach even expected to be supported? What is the expected structure of the obect for Audience column?2KViews0likes0CommentsSharepoint Online audience targeting in list not working
Hello, I'm having trouble with target groups set up for list. I have already enabled the publishing feature on website and targeting on list. I have also set up target groups in admin section with number of members and they have been already compiled. Now I have the list of items with Target Groups assigned, but unassigned users still can see all the items. Also in the Audience column, I would expect to see simple name of the Target group. Can you please help me - what else should I do to make this list targeted? Thank you Klara2.9KViews0likes0CommentsSharePoint Online-Communication Site-Top Nav-How to target audience?
I am trying to setup audience targeting for the top nav such that only the Site Owners would be able to view a specific link. I am not sure how to go about this? I have tried looking at Managed Navigation but read somewhere that it may not be possible to target an audience. I have also tried setting up an audience in the User Profile Section on the SharePoint Online Admin Center but not sure how to target a top nav for a site collection. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.Solved3.3KViews0likes8CommentsAudience Targeting for a newsfeed in SharePoint Online?
I need to be able to implement a newsfeed where the user is able to select a target audience when they publish a news article, since only certain people need visibility for different types of news. I'm really struggling with how to do this in SharePoint Online. Everywhere I read online seems to mention content query web parts, but in SPO I can't even see an 'insert > web part' menu when I edit a page. It seems like so much of the functionality from previous SharePoint versions is just gone in the modern interface. Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks2.2KViews0likes2CommentsMute Audience
Good Day! When conducting a meeting using Skype and we utilize the Mute Audience feature. When we have attendees using the PSTN feature while using either the call me feature or where the call the conference line directly, they are not subject to the Mute Audience restrictions. Mute Audience does mute them initially, however if they join by phone, they can override the mute by pressing *6 and begin speaking at any time. Has anyone else encountered and is there a solution to correct this so they can't override this control?1.2KViews0likes1Comment
