I have been having a number of issues trying to grant access to our SharePoint libraries to a partner organisation. We have Office 365 Business Essentials. I'm not quite sure what package the partner organisation uses but it includes Exchange & Skype for Business. I haven't been able to set up an Access Control Group for the 3rd party users. I have also struggled to get the library permissions working. I think I might have it cracked but I'm not sure. I think that I need to grant the individuals access to the library. I think this results in an email being sent to the user. I think the user needs to click the link in this email to accept the invitation to join the library before they try to open any links to specific files. Is this correct? The link to the library seems to bring us a confusing dialogue where the user is asked to select whether their email is a 'Microsoft Account' or an 'Organisational Account'. I fail to see why this is necessary as Microsoft must know if the email address is associated with a 'Microsoft Account' or an 'Organisational Account'.
