Issue with the WORD app

This problem started about 10 days ago. When I use the WORD app, and I type "the", it autocorrects itself inmediately to "te". It only happens with this word, not with anyother word that has th in it. It happens if it is capitalized "The"  or not "the".

I have even trashed the app and downloaded it again, to no avail. I used 2 hrs of chat support with Microsoft and we couldnt fix it. Please help. I have never used autocorrect on my laptop (macbook 2014) and dont know how to either.

and look through the list of replacements for an entry "the" and if found, select it and then click on the Delete button.
