Office-Windows dependency?

Office and Windows are apparently going to start coordinating their release schedules. Does this mean there's a support dependency between versions of the products? For example (hypothetically), does a computer have to be running the latest Windows 10 Semi-annual (Broad) version to be supported with the latest Office 365 ProPlus Semi-annual (Broad) version?

    You do need a supported version of Windows to run a supported version of Office, but there is no other dependency.
