Windows server 2019 RDP UDP mode

Copper Contributor

Hello!

RDP is not working in the currently released 2019 iso version. After connection we have black screen. The RDP service hangs and crashes. The problem can be solved by switching the connection to TCP mode. In the latest build of Preview, this is not seen as known bugs or corrected.

Is this fixed?

The fix for this issue for Windows Server 2019 will be released in February. In the meantime, the workaround is to use TCP.

Hello, I just installed Server Core 2019 18334 on a VMware 6.5 box and my Remote desktop does not work at all. It acts like it is connection and I get a black screen but shortly (1 min or less) I get disconnected. Is this a bug?

A fix for this issue should be present in the next Insider build. Thanks!

Workaround to turn off UDP on the remote client (win10 1809) doesn't work for me :(

I even tried to disable UDP on the server but the issue is still there.

@slavon Could you please share more details?

Which Windows build you are using?

Could you please refer me to the source of a workaround (disabling UDP) you were trying to use?

I added "fClientDisableUDP" =1 (DWORD) to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\Client\

But it did not work for me either.

Server: Build 18334

Client: Win10 build 18343

I did not have this issue in build 18298.

Maybe add it to known issues for 18343?

Windows Server Bug Fixes
We fixed an issue where RDP to ServerCore and ServerACore SKU’s did not work.

I have not tried it yet, will check it later today.

Can anyone confirm that it is fixed?
