Intune - Windows Personalization CSP - Wallpaper and Lockscreen update

Copper Contributor

Hi! We are pushing Wallpaper and Lockscreen on our Windows 11 devices.

We use Intune Personalization settings. Point towards a local source where we push the background using an application.

The idea is that we replace the file by updating the file push application. So we just change the files with the same name. The reason is that our marketing departments like to use slogans and more on the lockscreen / background.

We had the same procedure when we used to use Group Policies. When the file were replaced then the computer showed the new images...

This sadly doesn´t work the same using personalization in Intune. Personalization CSP function copies the files to a new location with a new name (random?) name.  Example: "C:\Windows\Personalization\DesktopImage\DesktopImage_XXXXXXXXXXX.jpg"

Does anyone know if / how / when the background updates from the original source? Or is it just one time sync?

Hello Jesper

We only change the Lock screen image because we want to turn of these fun facts. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off fun facts without adjusting the lock screen image. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off fun facts without adjusting the lock screen image.Lock screen.png
