This month we’re excited to announce a recent compliance milestone achieved by Test Base as well as introduce new capabilities that simplify the process of validating your applications against Windows updates in a Microsoft-managed test environment.

Test Base achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification

Test Base for Microsoft 365 consistently strives to enhance the security and compliance of the product. We’re proud to share the latest achievement in this journey that Test Base has obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. The certificate is displayed on the Microsoft Service Trust Portal. This demonstrates our commitment to building and maintaining security processes, risk management, and operational maturity.

Link to Test Base from Windows Update for Business reports

Customers can now easily access Test Base from the Windows Update for Business reports page. Test Base for Microsoft 365 is recommended to be the cloud validation service which helps organizations evaluate the readiness of business-critical applications for Windows updates.

Windows Package Manager (WinGet) onboarding is now in public preview

From the WinGet open-source community, WinGet package onboarding enables access to over 4,000+ curated applications with various versions available, and you can now easily onboard them to Test Base without having to upload them from your local desktop. This will save time and effort, allowing you to test your applications more efficiently and effectively. Starting from August 8th, we’ve made this feature available to everyone. You can try this out by following this step-by-step guide.

Join the private preview for testing updates from your own image

Test Base now supports testing against custom images to allow organizations to validate apps against the specific OS images used in their organization. As announced in our July Inspire blog post, this feature officially started private preview on Jul 31st. We’re happy to extend the invitation more broadly and accept your application to join the private preview. Please click here to submit your application.

New Windows 11 feature update available

As announced in a previous post, What’s new in Test Base for Microsoft 365: Inspire 2023 edition, Test Base will onboard the latest feature update of Windows 11. Starting August 10th, customers can test apps on the latest feature update. To receive this new package, activate Feature Update with Insider Beta Channel selected. If you've already registered, your applications will be automatically validated against all upcoming feature updates. For more information about this update, please see Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.2191 and 22631.2191.

Join the private preview to test apps for Windows on Arm

Last month, we announced that Test Base added support for Arm64 testing. Today, we’re happy to extend an invite and accept applications to join the private preview. Once your request is received, you’ll be able to test your applications on a different platform on Test Base. Please submit your application to join the private preview.

Once you sign into Azure to access the Test Base for Microsoft 365 service, you’re ready to test your apps against security updates, optional non-security preview releases, and OS version upgrades. If you’re ready to upload a package, edit an existing package, and customize the target versions for your test matrix. For more details, see our Test Base documentation.
