Joe McGowan I've been testing this, so in case you're still wondering:

• Windows PC with Backup enabled: the Mac client will sync to the same Desktop & Documents folders in OneDrive; Files from the Windows desktop appear on the Mac desktop, and vice versa (each to their own but I prefer this as I work regularly across both)
• iCloud Drive enabled for Desktop & Documents: OneDrive won't let you enable the Backup function if this is enabled, and will instruct you to turn it off
