Windows Insider USB Flash Drive Failed

Copper Contributor

I registered for a Windows Insider USB Flash Drive in order to reinstall Windows. Upon transfer of a few files into the flash drive it completely failed. Would MS be able to provide a replacement please?

Hello it_freakDude I am not a Microsoft employee, but will try to help you. Please answer the following questions first: 1) What version of Windows are you trying to install? 2) Do you already have any error messages you can tell me? 3) Can you tell me your hardware information like CPU etc.? What is important to note is that when you install Windows 11 you must exceed a compatibility. The easiest way to check this is with the following testing software from Microsoft. Check Windows 11 compatibility: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-use-the-pc-health-check-app-9c8abd9b-03ba-4e67-81... @KorayKazak Hi I wish to format my Surface Laptop 3, which supports Windows 11.

When I plug in the USB Drive it used to say no media. Then now it doesnt display on Windows Explorer at all. In Partition Manager it shows Disk 1 No Media, which leads me to belive the USB Device has failed.

Hmm... Do you have any possibility to take the last best performaning Version of your OS?

Because i would prefer that you install the OS fresh over the Windows Explorer when you plug in the USB Stick with the Boot Media..

Otherwise, it seems difficult to me mate to support you from here...
