Windows 11 Home Insider Preview v 10.0.26220 Build 26220. Windows Update is failing.

I found the root cause in the log: Windows Update is reaching Microsoft, but its Microsoft Store/AppX update pipeline is stuck in an existing deployment. It repeatedly reports WU_E_OPERATIONINPROGRESS.

There are older intermittent network/certificate errors (0x8024402C, 0x800B0109), but the affected downloaded file now validates as genuinely Microsoft-signed, and DISM/SFC are clean.

DISM and SFC completed successfully. WindowsUpdate.log shows repeated AppX deployment “operation in progress,” and intermittent certificate/proxy errors 0x800B0109 / 0x8024402C.
