Hi @TheWizIcez,

The BSOD video dxgkrnl fatal error is most probably caused by a problem with the DirectX graphics kernel subsystem.

There are a few things you can try to fix this error:

  • Update your graphics drivers: The most common cause of this error is outdated graphics drivers. Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card. You can download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

  • Run the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer: This installer will check your system for any missing or corrupted DirectX files and install them if necessary. You can download the installer from the Microsoft website.

  • Run the System File Checker (SFC): This tool will scan your system for any corrupted system files and repair them if necessary. To run SFC, open Command Prompt as administrator and type the following command:

sfc /scannow

  • Run the DISM tool: If SFC doesn't fix the problem, you can try running the DISM tool. This tool will scan your system for any corrupted system images and repair them if necessary. To run DISM, open Command Prompt as administrator and type the following commands:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  • Check for hardware problems: If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that there is a hardware problem with your graphics card. You can try testing your graphics card in a different computer to see if the problem persists. If it does, you may need to replace your graphics card.

Hi @TheWizIcez,

Since you mentioned that you only experience this problem in Roblox when using the highest graphics settings, it might be a specific compatibility issue between Roblox and your graphics card or driver.

Here are a few additional steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Lower the Graphics Settings in Roblox: If the BSOD only occurs when using the highest graphics settings in Roblox, try lowering the graphics settings within Roblox to see if the problem persists. This might alleviate the issue temporarily while you look for a more permanent solution.

  2. Check for Roblox Updates: Make sure your Roblox client is up to date.

  3. Contact Roblox Support: Reach out to Roblox support for assistance. They may be aware of specific issues related to your graphics card and could provide guidance or updates related to compatibility.

  4. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up to date. Microsoft occasionally releases updates that can improve system stability and address compatibility issues.

  5. Consider a Driver Rollback: If the issue only started after updating your graphics driver, you could try rolling back to a previous driver version to see if that resolves the problem. Sometimes, the latest drivers can introduce compatibility issues.

  6. Consider a Clean Windows Installation: If none of the above steps work, it might be worth considering a clean installation of Windows. This can help eliminate any software-related issues that might be causing the problem.
