Unable to install Win 11 23H2
i currently am on version 22623.1325 of win11. 23H2 downloads, goes to 25% installing, then aborts. Any ideas on how to complete the update?
- The problem for me was Malwarebytes Premium. I disabled it from running at start, exited the program and then re-tried the update, which then worked.

This worked for me after spinning my wheels for 6 days as my computer was rebooting multiple times after the update only to undo the update because "something went wrong". I have to wonder why Microsoft doesn't provide a better way to address issues with their OS updates!

- You can also try doing a Clean Install by Downloading the ISO from the Flight Hub. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-insider/flight-hub/ Now download Rufus https://rufus.ie/downloads/ Create a Bootable USB and Install by booting PC into Flash Drive and Install Windows. Make sure Rufus is set to UEFI when Creating Bootable drive.

-In Windows Update, go to Advanced Options --> Optional Updates.
-Select 2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5031905).
-After installing this update, re-run Windows Update and click RETRY on the Win 11 23H2 install.
-After installation of Win 11 23H2, re-run Windows Update to install: 2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031455). This final update was very slow to install, so be patient.
Having the same issues. Tried everything except resetting my PC.
Update: I deleted by SoftwareDistribution folder, so the installation wen till 100% percent only to fail againKr4myajHI. I had the same problem as you and I tried all the solutions and even turned off the Windows update services but nothing. I have a solution that might help you. try checking windows update's optional updates by going to windows update-)advanced options-)optional update, and update all. this might work like in my case.
We couldn't install this update but you can try a few dozen more times, we have no intention of solving the problem or even telling you what the problem is.
My next laptop will be a Macbook.
- I am having the same problem updating the 23H2. Downloads fine, installs to 25% then failed update error message.

I downloaded the bat file and ran it. Unfortunately, getting stuck at 25% installing same as before running the bat file.
Perhaps the cause is a different issue than that solved by resetting Windows Update?
