Method 1: Use "Safe Mode" to enable the hidden administrator account
Windows 10 actually has a hidden Administrator account. If it is not disabled, you can use it to change your password.

1. Press and hold Shift + click "Restart" to enter "Advanced Startup Options".
2. Select "Troubleshoot" → "Advanced Options" → "Startup Settings", and then restart.
3. After restarting, select "Enter Safe Mode" (press F4).
4. Check if there is an Administrator account on the login screen. If so, select it to log in, and then go to the Control Panel to change your main account password!

But if this administrator account is disabled, you have to try other methods.

Method 2. Log in with a "local account"
If you previously logged in with a Microsoft account instead of a local account, you don't need to change your password, just reset it online:
