How to Reduce No-Shows for WooCommerce Appointments

A no-show isn't just a missed appointment; it's a slot you could have given to someone else, revenue you planned around, and time you can't recover. For salons, clinics, coaches, and any service business running on a fixed schedule, even a handful of no-shows a week adds up to a meaningful revenue leak.

The reasons are almost always the same: no upfront commitment, no reminder sent, booking made too far in advance, and no real consequence for not showing up. All of these are fixable at the WooCommerce booking setup level.

A customer who gets a reminder with a cancellation link is far more likely to notify you in advance than one who just goes silent. That advance notice is what gives you a real chance to rebook the slot.

Set deposits or full payment at booking to incentivize customers to show up. This financial commitment discourages casual no-shows.

In the WooCommerce Booking app, you can require a deposit or credit card authorization and enable automatic SMS/email reminders that include a cancellation link.
