How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.
In Windows 11, you can adjust the taskbar settings to prevent the combining of taskbar buttons. Here's how you can do it:
- Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
- Select "Taskbar settings" from the context menu.
- Scroll down to the "Combine taskbar buttons" option.
- Open the dropdown menu and select "Never."
By following these steps, you will set Windows 11 to never combine taskbar buttons, allowing each open application or window to have its own separate button on the taskbar.

This is correct but only if you are at least using Windows 11 insider Beta channel. The feature is coming to globally released channel soon but not yet available.
