Feature request: Snap layouts must persist between sessions.

What is the point of arranging applications into snap layouts if Windows 11 forgets them after shut down.  Common,  this is blindingly obvious.  Remember what applications were opened and where when i boot and login.   No brainer really.

In **Windows 11**, the **Snap layouts** feature allows you to organize your open windows into predefined layouts, making multitasking more efficient. However, it seems that after rebooting, your Snap layouts are not being restored as expected. Let's explore some solutions to address this issue: 1. **Toggle Snap Windows Option**: - Open the **Settings** app using the **Windows + I** shortcut keys. - Click on **System** in the left sidebar. - Scroll down and select the **Multitasking** tab. - Ensure that the **Snap windows** option is **toggled on**³. 2. **Check for Updates**: - Make sure your **Windows 11** installation is up to date. Sometimes updates include fixes for known issues. 3. **Registry Tweak (Advanced)**: - If the above steps don't work, you can try a registry tweak: - **Create a restore point** to be safe. - Open the **Registry Editor** (press **Windows + R**, type **regedit**, and hit **Enter**). - Navigate to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced`. - Create a new **DWORD (32-bit) Value** named **EnableSnapAssistFlyout**. - Set its value data to **1**. - Restart your computer to see if Snap layouts work as expected⁷. 4. **Third-Party Solutions**: - Some third-party tools, like the **Dell Display Manager**, allow you to save window layouts. If you have a **Dell monitor**, you can download this tool to manage your settings¹. Remember that Snap layouts will stay snapped in place until you manually resize a window or choose a different layout from the snap menu. If you minimize windows one by one, they will keep their snapped sizes and return to their positions when restored². Hopefully, one of these solutions will help you maintain your preferred Snap layouts even after rebooting! :framed_picture:️👍 Source: Conversation with Bing, 3/27/2024 (1) Solved: How do I fix Windows 11 Snap Layouts missing or not ... - PUPUWEB. https://pupuweb.com/solved-fix-windows11-snap-layouts-missing-not-working-problem/. Thanks but this is not the problem i've described. The snap feature is enabled and working. It's just it's working like Drew Barrymore in the 50 first dates film. Every time i restart the computer it forgets everything and i have to reopen and reorganize all my apps and windows. This is just the laziness on behalf of the software team and the was described from the dawn of the UX discipline. We the users have been putting up with the amnesiatic software for too long.
