Are A3 and A5 licenses not good enough to get Windows Autopatch?
Si i came across an article on the Autopatch and thought i want to try that. i looked at the prereq's and thought i have all that. went to my Endpoint Manager console and Windows Autopatch is not there. i read it should automatically be there if you meet the requirements. i thought i did, i have EPM setup and devices are co managed and are hybris azure ad joined. the only difference in the prereq's that i saw was that it said E3 licenses and above. i am in the education sector and i have A3 and A5 licenses. are they not the same as the E3 and E5 equivalent? Is this why i dont see Windows Autopatch available to my tenant?

Couldn't agree with you more, dealing with lots of Organisations in the Education sector and they are the perfect candidate for AutoPatch but there's no licensing avenue for them.
They're dealing with lots of issues with the migration to Modern Management from SCCM, most importantly, legacy naming conventions that make creating dynamic groups very difficult, AutoPatch Groups would be the perfect solution.- b00walkerCopper Contributor
It's landed in all of my customer tenants, woohoo!

We recently announced availability of Autopatch Groups and Reporting to A3+. The features are being rolled out over the next several weeks. More info here: Why Windows Autopatch is the smart update solution - Windows IT Pro Blog

Microsoft
Hi Michael54
Thanks for the questions!
You are correct, you are not seeing the Windows Autopatch experience in the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center as you do not meet the licensing pre-requisites.
Windows Autopatch is included with Window 10/11 Enterprise E3 or higher and is not available to Business Premium users, A3/A5 SKUs or as a standalone add on license at this time.
Check out our Prerequisites Doc for more details on licensing requirements for Windows Autopatch.

Harman_Thind Update needed here.
- VanVuiteCopper ContributorDear Microsoft,
What a pain not to have autopatch for educational license payers?
What replacement or alternative service do we have?
Being a school, Eductional licenses are designed for us, we have educational licenses, should we also buy enterprise licenses on top of our Edu licenses? or should we kick off Edu licenses and replace with Ent licenses?
What's the point here? I didn't get this?
