Unable to access Windows 365 settings in Endpoint Manager Admin Center

Copper Contributor

Dear community,

I am having an issue accessing the Windows 365 settings in the Endpoint Manager Admin Center. When I follow the guide provided by Microsoft (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/assign-users-as-local-admin), I am unable to access the menu items due to a blocking banner. I have tried clicking the cross icon on the banner, but it takes me back to the home page (https://endpoint.microsoft.com/?ref=AdminCenter#home).

Is anyone else facing this issue? Is there any workaround?

I have contacted Microsoft support regarding this issue 2 weeks ago, but I haven't received any answer yet. I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance on how to resolve this issue.

Best regards,

Tobias

@Cowboy67 You need to be part of the following RBAC groups to manage Windows 365 Cloud PC

Thank you for you reply. I am trying to give myself the same permissions. Unfortunately I cannot see the same role groups as you do, they seem to be missing. I have opened Endpoint Manager as Global Administrator. Do you know why these two RBAC Groups are missing?

Make sure you have the necessary license for Windows 365 if not start a trial. Go under admin.microsoft.com and add the necessary license. Once you have the license you will be able to perform the necessary actions under MEM portal.
I have checked the admin center. I have a Windows365 licensed assigned to my user. I assigned it when I started my W365 trial subscription

If you are part of the following RBAC groups and W365 license assigned ideally it should work.

RBAC:
Global Administrator
Intune Service Administrator (also known as Intune Administrator)
Hello Askaresh,

I have both roles and the license assigend to my account. Are you facing the same issue? My guess it's not a rights issue but a design issue on Microosft's end. I have contacted Microsoft Support twice with no response so far.

Could you be so kind and try to access the settings menu for W365 under this link in your tenant(https://endpoint.microsoft.com/?ref=AdminCenter#view/Microsoft_Intune_DeviceSettings/DevicesMenu/~/C...)? Do you see the same banner I do? If not, do you get a different URL for the settings menu and can you please post it below? I think this could be a potential workaround until Microsoft fixes their site.

Best regards,

Tobias

One more thing to check you have W365 enterprise license? As you don't get Intune blade this with W365 Business license.
Hello Askaresh,

You are right, I have W365 business license not enterprise. Thank you for your help, it was a licensing issue after all.
Glad to hear it wasn't anything extra ordinary 🙂

It could be due to a lack of administrative privileges or an issue with your account's subscription. Try accessing the Endpoint Manager Admin Center using a different account with administrative privileges or check if your subscription is up to date.

It was a licensing issue. I've set up a trial for Windows 365 BUSINESS. I would have needed W365 Enterprise.
