In our continued effort to make diagramming simpler and easier for everyone—and to address one of the most popular requests from Visio userswe are bringing Unified Modeling Language (UML) shapes and functionalities to Visio for the web. Now, all Visio Plan 1 and Visio Plan 2 users can model software-based systems and other processes quickly and easily with shapes and templates that meet UML 2.5 standards.

UML diagrams provide software developers and systems architects with the ability to design and visually represent software-based systems. These templates can also be used to model business processes and workflows. Visio supports both structural and behavioral diagrams, including nine different types of UML diagramsClass, Sequence, Activity, Use Case, Component, Communication, State, Deployment, and Database.
