Re: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker -- WILL BE RETIRING END OF JUNE!
MarianaG1285 @Ashique07 We are changing the skills validation experience and the credential to the Microsoft Applied Skills for the skills that are measured in PL-100; however, that does not mean that taking the certification is a waste of time. Achieving the certification is still valuable, and it will remain on your transcript (and anywhere you share it such as LinkedIn or your resume/CV) after the certification is retired. The retirement simply means that moving forward after June 30, 2024 people will use the Microsoft Applied Skills to validate and credential their skills at this level. After achieving PL-100 OR the Microsoft Applied Skills, you can continue your learner journey and achieve the next milestone of PL-200 Power Platform Functional Consultant or PL-400 Power Platform Developer. Demand for people with Power Platform skills is ever increasing, and achieving all of these credentials is very worthwhile.Re: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker -- WILL BE RETIRING END OF JUNE!
See my response to Schwaigy the certification is still active on your transcript for up to two years. The PL-600 does not require PL-100 as prerequisite. You have the skills you have attained, and this retirement will not impact your progress towards PL-600.Re: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker -- WILL BE RETIRING END OF JUNE!
It's definitely not a waste to have taken this certification. You gained the skills, and you validated them through the certification. You have the credential and it will stay on your transcript for up to two years after it is retired. Retiring this credential only impacts people who have NOT taken it yet. You are not impacted by the retirement.Re: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker -- WILL BE RETIRING END OF JUNE!
None of the PL exams have prerequisites; so you can take each independently. You do not need to take PL-100 in order to take PL-200. The two exams represent two target roles. PL-100 targets the maker role, and PL-200 the Functional Consultant role.Re: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker -- WILL BE RETIRING END OF JUNE!
It's important to distinguish between the certification retirement and it expiring on your transcript. You still have the certification, and it is active on your transcript until it expires. You can show you've got the skills to anyone interested! https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/credential-expiration-policy
