Re: Microsoft Defender ATP now in preview on Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session
Thanks - apologies as MDATP is a new product and I am yet to get my trial activation email - so not really skilled in understanding how it works on physical devices. What if we put the session host in Azure Security Center - I believe VM protection in Azure Security covers MDATP? Would that cover all user sessions connecting to the host? Its all a bit confusing!!13KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Microsoft Defender ATP now in preview on Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session
PieterWigleven Hi Pieter so if I install ATP on my Session Host Image and deploy session host using that. Then I have one user that has a Microsoft 365 Premium license and another user that has Microsoft 365 E5 license - are you saying that the user session with Microsoft 365 Premium licence will not be protected?13KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Microsoft Defender ATP now in preview on Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session
Jeff_Bryant I agree, the ambiguity around product releases and public preview and trials is just getting out of hand at Microsoft! Try and get answers from MS Distributors and they are in the same boat. Product Team you guys are doing a great job in getting new products out - but why not feed info to your users (beta users) on how to go about deploying new products. We are looking at E5 users or standalone Defender Advanced Threat Protection. But have no clarity on how licensing in WVD will be compliant/work!14KViews0likes6CommentsWVD Licensing
Hi Can someone please try and answer this query as we seem to be having no luck with reseller about clarification on this matter. Scenario: As MSP we want to deploy all WVD Resources including Azure AD, AD DS in our tenant - call it MSP Tenant. This is where all workspace, session hosts etc will live. We then have Customer 1, Customer 2 etc - they have their own Microsoft 365 tenants and we have licensed the users with Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Now to connect to WVD we create user accounts in our tenant AD - say mailto:user1@msptenant.com Because WVD does not allow connectivity for guest accounts yet - much needed feature to solve this shenanigan! User1 also in their own Microsoft 365 tenant has Microsoft 365 Business Premium license - say mailto:user1@customer1.com User1 is now able to connect to our WVD resources using mailto:user1@msptenant.com account and all is working ok. Is User1 meeting the license requirements for WVD? OR will we need to double up on license for his mailto:user1@msptenant.com account too despite him already having appropriate license on mailto:user1@customer1.comaccount?1.5KViews1like2CommentsRe: Shared WVD Environment
CMurphyUSA Thank you. Users can still "see" other users folders under C:\Users - permissions just prevent access to getting into the folders. I have semi-solved the issue now by restricting access to C: Drive and setting up hub mode for file explorer. This still shows the user his profile folders and prevents access to C: drive completely. The issue is when you use an application that allows open location (i.e. in outlook data file) - the C:\ does open up and a user can get to C:\Users and see other users folders in there.2.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: (Solved) Investigating issue with Windows 10 Enterprise (multi-session), version 2004
PieterWigleven Hi Pieter - unfortunately that is not the case. When I deploy our golden image - we cannot connect to the Session Host - till we apply the registry key. Once registry key is applied. We can connect. How do I check if the agent has "updated" ?28KViews0likes2CommentsShared WVD Environment
Hi All Just lab testing WVD environment to match our current RDS Farms environment. We run a shared RDS Farms servers where multiple clients connect up to our RDS Servers. We lock down the RDS servers using group policy so that they don't get to see each other on the servers. With WVD + FSLogix Profile Containers - I wonder how we can lock down C:\Users folders so that one user cannot see another users folders in there? I have tried restricting access to C Drive - but given that FSLogix container mounts in C:\Users - the test users weren't able to access their documents, downloads etc folders. Would be really good if someone has a way to achieve this?2.6KViews0likes3CommentsRe: (Solved) Investigating issue with Windows 10 Enterprise (multi-session), version 2004
@Pieter Wigleven How can we update our Golden Image of v2004 with the new agents? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/create-host-pools-powershell Links here still download the Microsoft.RDInfra.RDAgent.Installer-x64-1.0.1932.4800.msi instead of the new WVD agent. Applying the registry seems to be the only way for our newly deployed Session Hosts from our v2004 golden image to function.28KViews0likes4CommentsRe: [Feedback Requested] - Changes to the subscription logic for the Windows Desktop client (MSRDC)
DavidBelanger Thanks for this. Quick question. We have the following scenarios: 1. Desktop being used by end users are autologged in to the local computer. Previously we put a RDP icon on the desktop and users can login using their credentials to the RDS Server. With the workspace it seems the credentials are required for it to be added in the Workspace client - does the credentials being used to add workspace feed matter? Would any user just be able to use the workspace icon and login to their WVD environment? 2. Haven't tested this on PC - but on Mac if i connect to the workspace - I cannot again connect to that workspace using a different credentials as it shows me connected to that workspace already. Is there a way to start a second session with different credentials?5.3KViews0likes1Comment
