add validation list column and comments column to a power query exported table in excel.
I want to import data from SAP to Power query, and then extract that as a table to an excel sheet, I want to also add a column that has a drop down validation list of items (usernames) for each record in the table, and another column where text comments can be added in the table for each record. Can I add these two additional columns inside of power query as I construct the table? I`ve noticed after unlocking some columns in sheet 1 (Data), and protecting the Data sheet, that my pivot table in sheet 2 (Analyze) being fed from the Data sheet, no longer works, is this correct? (It appears that partially protected sheets stop pivot tables from calculating data?) And the table in sheet 1 (Data) no longer populates down the page once its rows are full. I want to protect my; day, week, month, year, GST, and subtotal columns from being editable. But when I do protect those cells, the pivot table stops working. I also find after unprotecting the worksheet 1 (Data), the data table on sheet 1 no longer elongates downward when dragged. Hello! I`m using a table here, and when I add a date, the day, week, month, year automatically populate, When I add an invoice amount (column F) I would like the GST and subtotal columns to automatically update as well, however if I use the current formula`s in the GST and Subtotal columns, when I delete an invoice amount, the formula`s in GST and subtotal columns do not repopulate down, however I dont want them to show any results until I enter a new invoice amount (in F). attached workbook.Solved4.7KViews0likes10Commentscommunity forum pages freeze up from time to time when starting conversations or accessing dropdowns
Why is loading a new conversation in the forum (excel) freezing my screen every time!! I dont have this problem on other forums. A lot of the time I go to start a new conversation, the processor starts whirring and the screen freezes up, I have to crash the page just to start again. I only have this problem with microsoft. and i`m using windows 10 16gb RAM so its not an old computer. Someone needs to go over the front end code or whatever is freezing up the forum pages...It happens when one attempts to "start a new conversation" or access a menu from the profile drop down. see attached images for error message examples.. on the positive side, the image upload function works very quickly and is fast to use. I have two versions of my workbook here, version 3 and 4 attached here. I created version 4 to see if I could get rid of the problem, basically I cant get rid of the blanks that appear on my pivot table. As I add new rows to my database on sheet 1, I get these blanks on the pivot table. I want to give this workbook to someone with no data yet in the sheet 1 datatable. They will simply be adding a date in the date column, dollar amount in the "invoice" column, invoice number and client name. They should then click on the pivot table in sheet 2, refresh all or CTRL ALT F5 to update the pivot table and graph (version 3 workbook). but these BLANKS are driving me nuts. the other problem is, as I add more data to sheet 1, the data seems to appear in the FIELD LIST FILTERS but UNTICKED. Why is that? Even if I Refresh all, the fields remain unticked and dont appear inside of the pivot table. I have sheet 1 where I will enter my data. namely Date, Invoice Amount, and this normally reflects in the pivot table on Sheet 2. after I press ctrl alt F5 or refresh all. ive attached a demo pivot table here and want it to update, if it helps to put the pivot table on another page I will do that. I want to be able to add new dates, invoices and $ amounts to the dataset and have it update in the pivot table..I thought this would be the case but it is not. kindly,Solved3.9KViews0likes13Comments
