Re: The scrollbar should also be updated with Windows 11 UI
Edge actually uses the scroll bar style from Windows 7 which has been long overdue. I think a better solution would be for the scroll bar to be in line with the rest of the operating system, ie using the Windows 10 scroll bar on Windows 10 and the Windows 11 scroll bar on Windows 11.5.4KViews3likes2CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.608.2 is live
MissyQ No confusion here, just disappointment. The item Provide different options for sorting favorites has not been addressed at all. My suggestion would be to mark it accordingly (as ‘not planned’) and to be transparent with your users as to why it no longer is.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.608.2 is live
josh_bodner So, what’s been ‘addressed’ really? We’ve had that option since early Insider builds. You’ve silently removed ‘Provide different options for sorting favourites’ after 51 weeks. Several users have expressed their concerns yet we’ve heard nothing as to why it went from ‘planned’ to ‘addressed’ with absolutely no changes.1.4KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for August 12
MissyQ If favourites remain this way, I’m sorry to say I’ll have to switch browsers. For my work, I rely on favourites a lot with thousands of favourites and folders for each project. My colleagues are no different. No browser other than Firefox comes with a fully-fledged favourites manager as far as I know, so I was happy to hear we would finally have a Chromium-based browser that does. Then there are favourites-related bugs which have not been addressed in any way despite reporting them several times through the feedback tool since early Insider builds. Chrome does not suffer from these bugs at all. After all this time where Edge’s development feels increasingly more stagnant, it has become clear to me the new Edge team consists of only a few developers and/or the team doesn’t have their priorities straight.4.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for August 12
The first item ‘Provide different options for sorting favourites’ has not been addressed at all. There is only ‘sort by name’ which we’ve always had across all channels. Favourites are also still being placed at the top rather than bottom of the list when moved into a folder (this is a bug). Besides the addition of tick boxes, manage favourites has seen very little to no improvement since early Insider builds which is a shame if you rely on favourites a lot.5.1KViews0likes2CommentsImprovement: Users should be able to select hyperlinks just like any other text natively
Why do users still have to hold Alt to select hyperlinks in 2020? The extension ‘Select like a Boss’ aims to solve this issue, but it comes with issues of its own, eg HTML is inserted into the page which prevents forms from submitting increasingly more often. Please allow users to select hyperlinks just like any other text natively. If Opera could do it more than a decade ago, Edge can do it too!412Views0likes0CommentsBug: A GitHub search engine is added for each GitHub project that contains a domain name
Replicable across all channels. This is a problem because entering the project name (eg acme.sh) into the address bar searches GitHub when the user really wants to search the internet, bookmarks or history instead.376Views0likes0CommentsRe: How to Convince Firefox user to Switch to Microsoft Edge?
Reza_Ameri-Archived To be fair, I’d be using Firefox if web compatibility, scrolling and battery life weren’t much inferior to Edge, not to mention we’ve lost Tab Set Aside (-1). Firefox would currently offer me superior font rendering that is similar to legacy Edge, a fully-fledged favourites manager (with sorting, tagging, etc), containers and essentially endless customisation.2.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Edge: Dutch translation improvement
MCHuijgen Dutch isn’t my strong suit, but I’m pretty sure the headers ‘Blokkering’ and ‘Toestaan’ should be ‘Geblokkeerd’ and ‘Toegestaan’ respectively (CMIIW). The context menu and dialogue button should definitely say ‘Blokkeren’ as you’ve pointed out. English UK actually contains some grammatical ‘errors’ too (they may not be considered as such in the US). They’ve probably done a search and replace from the US version. I can live with it though.1.1KViews1like2Comments
