Strange Issue On Welcome Screen After Installing Latest Insider Beta Build On Windows 11 Pro
Ever since I installed this version when I first boot up my computer I see enter your pin, I find that rather strange because I've already enabled the auto login option. I don't actually have to enter my pin # but simply press the enter key and after doing so everything is normal and I'm taken to my desktop. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so were you able to fix the issue ? I have this same version installed on two computers but my issue is only happening on one of them which I find rather strange. The bad thing about my issue is the fact that it's happening on the welcome screen and I don't think there's anyway to capture a screenshot so I can share it with you. For reference I'm including my windows build # & version #. I will truly appreciate it if someone can 'hopefully' provide a fix for my issue. I'm currently using Version 124.0.2478.10 (Official build) stable app, beta channel (64-bit) of edge. Previously I was able to utilize a experimental flag to darken web pages so they didn't blind me when I opened them, with this version and possibly others the developers have for some unknown reason removed this particular flag forcing users to have to rely on an extension to do the same thing, I'm wondering why that particular flag got removed ?464Views2likes1CommentRe: Edge Android Beta Evaluation
I do appreciate you responding to my original posting, I'm thinking I'm going to keep evaluating the browser to see what I'm satisfied with and what I'm not. One item that I'm not satisfied with in comparison to android vivaldi is not having the ability to play video/sound in the background with my phone screen turned off.809Views0likes1CommentEdge Android Beta Evaluation
Hi, I'm currently trying out the latest android beta version of edge on my lg velvet 5g phone that's using version 13 of the android operating system. Quite frankly at least so far this browser seems somewhat limited compared to the android browser I currently have set as my default (Vivaldi). The vivaldi android browser is very customizable in most every area, I was really hoping that by now that android edge would have been considerably improved by now. I plan on continuing to evaluate the browser for a while longer as I'm thinking it's possible that I'm just too impatient with certain thing's in my life for some reason since I've gotten older.919Views2likes3CommentsRe: Dev Channel update to 114.0.1807.1 is live
With the release of this build version, the single item that was 'fixed' that makes me want to use tis browser more now is this: Changed behavior: Fixed Auto-hide sidebar button not working. I had previously sent in feedback about this and this does in fact prove to me that the developers of the browser do in fact listen to the feedback that gets submitted by the users.8.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Dev Channel update to 114.0.1788.0 is live
I'm still hoping that a feature that the majority of edge user's would like and that is when hovering the mouse pointer over the blue bing discover icon that would make the chat section as well as the sidebar appear, but when the mouse pointer gets moved away from that area that area would automatically be hidden once again.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Dev Channel update to 112.0.1722.7 is live
jateruy, I totally agree with your comment concerning the three flags that you had posted in a previous browser update, I tried all three of the with this latest update and found them to be just as you stated: "None of the three UI related flags that disables these new features are working anymore" edge://flags#edge-minimal-toolbar edge://flags#edge-rounded-containers edge://flags#edge-visual-rejuv-rounded-tabs I'm still thankful that you were kind enough to share this information in the first place ! As of this morning (Weds. 03/22/23) these three flags are working again, in my case since I had left them in the experimental flags area I'm assuming the developers enabled them to function once again. Yeah !14KViews1like0CommentsRe: Microsoft Edge sidebar suggestion (have the option for left side)
Besides having the option of having the sidebar on the left side, I would also like having the option added to having the sidebar to appear and hide automatically by simply moving my mouse pointer close to that area like it does with some different browsers that already have this feature implemented.1.9KViews1like0CommentsMSNBC Live Video Feed Not Displaying Properly
I'm currently running Version 111.0.1661.36 (Official build) dev (64-bit) of the chromium edge browser, while using a different chromium based windows browser this site: https://www.msnbc.com/ displays the live video feed properly without any issues. So I'm wondering as to why the edge browser won't do the same ?1.3KViews1like1CommentRe: Edge how to Always open favorites in new tab?
Dennis5mile, At the current time I must be having a extremely bad senior moment, along with me having the pressing thought of my upcoming cardiologist appointment on tues. 03/07 due to the fact I suppose of my recent echocardiogram that the preliminary result came back labeled as abnormal. So with that being stated, could you PLEASE elaborate as to exactly add to the shortcut line in the properties area of the current version of edge I'm using (Version 111.0.1661.27 (Official build) dev (64-bit). Thanks in advance if you decide to respond back to me, like other users have stated, I'm just hoping that the edge browser doesn't continue to become more and more bloated with items that people really don't want. Hi the5ilence, I would have to agree with your statement, the main reason for installing a different version of the edge browser besides the 'stable' version is mainly for evaluation purposes as well as see what new features are being offered. I'm not going to make a public statement about the negative comments, other than to say that nobody forces us to install a different version of the edge browser other than the one that is included with the operating system.3.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Bing Discover Button and MS Edge Dev Build
I'm still using the built-in windows security software that come included with the windows operating system, from the latest reviews I've read microsoft has made some pretty substantial overall improvements to their security software. Hi jateruy, Thanks so much for posting these edge experiment settings, at least now my browser looks somewhat more normal again. I'm sure there are probably some users of the developer builds of ms edge chromium browser that might actually prefer the roundness of the items that these posted experimental flags eliminate, but I'm not a fan of any of them. I guess that's why those of us that actually are using the development builds of the browser are actually using it so we can check out new features.3.6KViews1like1CommentRe: Dev Channel update to 111.0.1660.0 is live
I'm really hoping that with an upcoming release that the developers will include a setting to have the sidebar open & close while hovering your mouse pointer over the sidebar area that's already available with different chromium based browsers which makes using the sidebar so much easier.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Online Security Against Malware & Viruses Question
PeterRising Hello, Thank you so much for your timely reply, I'm a standalone user who's just concerned more & more about malware as well as viruses. I've even considered installing malwarebytes on my computer which I would consider as added protection, but then again do I really need to ? Happy New Year, Please Stay Safe & Healthy. Hello, I've been a microsoft windows operating system user for quite a few year's now, as I remember ever since version 3.1 so as you can see that's a long time. So my main concern is with the seemingly increasing amount of cyber attacks as well as additional amounts of malicious malware & viruses increasing all the time, should I feel safe by just using the windows security software that comes built-in to the ms operating system ? I tend to enjoy looking up information and reading as much about online security as possible because I want to feel like I'm safe when I browse the internet. Would you mind sharing your opinion (which I do in fact value) concerning this matter. For additional reference I had first contacted a community manager concerning this question (Trevor Rusher - Trevor_Rusher) and he suggested that I post my question in this particular discussion group. Hi Jeremiah-V, Thanks so much for taking the time to respond back to me, I'm thinking that I'll take your advice and send some kind of feedback to the engineering dept., my motto is you will never know until you try..it's all about communication isn't it. David1.7KViews0likes0CommentsPlease Add Option In Settings To Hide Sidebar Automatically
Hi, At least in my humble opinion it would be great to have the option available to be able to hide the sidebar automatically instead of only having the current two options that are available, to hide or display. I haven't checked yet in the 'experimental flags' area to see if an flag for doing this might in fact be available, but by having the sidebar showing it takes up valuable viewing area when I'm trying to view a webpage.
