Toast Notifications by Website
When notifications arrive from different websites and PWAs the default way they appear in Windows is underneath the Microsoft Edge name, not the website. There's a flag that changes this functionality, "Group Toast Notifications By Website," but are there plans to improve upon this? Right now this appears to show the URL (mobile.twitter.com) instead of a website title (Twitter) and appears to lack any iconography attached to the website.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Introducing the new Extensions menu on the toolbar
I'm going to join some of the others here - let us hide this like we're able to hide any other button on the menubar. It's great to have a centralized place for this to live, but like all other non-navigation UI it should be an option, not a requirement. Having a right click menu option to "hide from menubar" but then require the puzzle piece be visible is a little confusing - we're trading what used to relegate this to ... to a new menu button we can't get rid of.5.5KViews9likes0CommentsRe: Edge Dev Build - Extensions Button Appeared - problems
Sure - but that's also what the ... menu served as for those of us who want a clean navigation bar. Right now I don't show any buttons up there, but with this implementation I'm required to have that puzzle piece no matter what. If this functioned similar to other functionality and could be hidden like Favorites/Downloads/etc. it'd be fine.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Edge Dev Build - Extensions Button Appeared - problems
LexusYuenYes, but this is the problem. Now you're stuck with that button in the menu bar instead of extensions being relegated to the ... menu. Favorites, Downloads, etc. don't require a button to be visible in the toolbar but in the current implementation Extensions now must live there which some of us don't want.2.1KViews1like4CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 87.0.664.8 is live
josh_bodner I'm noticing in this update pinned tiles in Start are still broken. While the Wide tile is now hidden, the favicon is still stretched to the max size in the tile, where as before it was centered like other Windows apps.13KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Introducing the new favorites experience in Microsoft Edge
William Devereux Would it be possible to retain the classic menu style of Favorites in the ... menu? Right now, History and Apps provide a quickly drawn submenu to open things within. I expect the same functionality with favorites, but now I have to wait for the new panel to load, then finding what I'm looking for.31KViews5likes0CommentsRe: Say hello to the new Favorite Sidebar feature in the Edge browser
HotCakeX If you go into the ... menu you can move your mouse down and quickly get a submenu for History (shown below) or Apps. With the new Favorites system that menu is gone, requiring the panel to appear separately17KViews0likes1CommentRe: Say hello to the new Favorite Sidebar feature in the Edge browser
HotCakeX In the current state this feature is strange. In the ... menu it effectively breaks quickly browsing your favorites in a submenu, which seems counterintuitive since History and Apps have quick menus there. There's the additional issue it's slow to appear, making quickly getting to a Favorite if you don't have the bar set as always visible a much longer process now. Reported it as a bug.17KViews0likes6CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 87.0.654.0 is live
MissyQNoticed today that pinned website tiles appear to have broken in this build? On two different machines the favicon now fills the tile (see Twitter), and also allows for a wide tile which stretches the icon. The smaller icons here are ones I haven't loaded in the current build.2.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.601.1 is live
Would it be possible to note under "Known Issues" that the alt tab integration of open tabs is temporarily disabled? This was mentioned in the last build's forum post and as far as I can tell that still does not appear fixed in this build either.4.1KViews0likes0CommentsCustomize New Tab Page on Microsoft 365
Are there plans to open this up to customization, whether by administrators or by users? While seeing views of recent file activity can be helpful I'd be curious if this could be opened up to viewing Planner or To Do tasks, upcoming Calendar items, or other useful data that could be pulled from our work accounts.504Views0likes0CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 79.0.308.1 is live
josh_bodner Are there any reports of the Report Feedback link not working on macOS in this build? I was going to report a website where I'm seeing a rendering issue but every time I click the button the browser immediate crashes. On Windows I'm seeing black screenshots - but the window appears here at least.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Where on earth are the bookmarks stored?
SaulJed Gave it a go and took a look around on my machine and came to the following conclusion [drive letter]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge Dev\User Data\Default There's a Bookmarks file here that appears to contain the information if you open it in Notepad. Not sure if plopping that into a profile folder would bring the info right up or not though.5.1KViews1like7CommentsRe: Where on earth are the bookmarks stored?
SaulJed The easiest option would likely be to go to the ... menu > Favorites > Manage Favorites, then select "Export Favorites" in the sidebar. I have no idea how Chromium-based browsers store this data but that's a surefire way to back it up if you're moving machines without sync enabled (or using a Work account on macOS where sync doesn't work yet).5.2KViews1like9Comments
