Re: Many pages with insufficient content
gideonrobertsI think that such pages, where there is little content, are incorrectly marked as pages with insufficient content. After all, you can't create content on every page just to satisfy the search engine algorithm. Personally, in such a case I simply ignore the error that Bing gives.331Views0likes0CommentsMany pages with insufficient content
"It is important for SEO to ensure that web pages have enough words because search engines use the content of a page to determine its relevance and quality. Pages with very little content may be seen as low-quality or thin content by search engines, which can negatively impact the site’s SEO performance" I am convinced by that statement from Bing Webmaster Tools. Pages do not have to have a high volume of content. They might be very little, like workable examples or a short but clear explanation. They are still relevant and perceived as of high quality. What others think about it? Thanks, Cezary Tomczyk627Views0likes2CommentsRe: Robots.txt tester failed
shenyihui “Discovered but not crawled” - that might be the issue with canonical link or you may have duplicated content so the search engines sees same content under the two different URLs. > Even after I fetched the sitemap or submit the urls, the discovery date never changed nor the status move on to crawling stage. If the sitemap contains correct URLs then all you can do is wait until search engine will update their data. Or eventually contact Webmaster Support - Bing Webmaster Tools: https://www.bing.com/webmasters/help/webmasters-support-24ab5ebf1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Robots.txt tester failed
shenyihui I'd suggest searching for "robots.txt validators" and validating your robots.txt first. If the structure of robots.txt is valid but some pages aren't yet indexed, then something else must block crawling. Also, it takes some time for Bing to update its results after changing anything in robots.txt.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsBing SERP and "See more" link
For those trying to find the solution for incorrect links behind "See more" on Bing SERP snippet may want to read article called "https://www.sitelint.com/blog/fixing-bing-serp-see-more-behavior/". It's not ideal, but should work under condition that your element id has the following structure: [word]_[word]. Hopefully Bing team will fix that issue and provide standardised hash part in their "See more" links.346Views0likes0CommentsMark image as decorative for Bing search engine
Hi All. Some images might be as decorative, and normally using alt="" will indicate that. However, Bing reports that the image with the attribute alt="" as "The <img> tag does not have an ALT attribute defined.". As far as I know, https://www.sitelint.com/blog/bing-seo-optimization-a-comprehensive-guide-to-improve-your-websites-performance/#indicating_decorative_images_with_empty_alt_textcan be used to notify Bing crawler that the image is of the decorative type. However, Bing SEO Reports still reports the same issue "The <img> tag does not have an ALT attribute defined.". So, #1 the data-decorative="true"is not working, or #2 updating data in Bing SEO Reports will take some time. Any other suggestion of how to give a signal for Bing crawler that the image is decorative is very welcome.524Views1like1Comment
